Should I buy a Longines? Which one? Why?

Hello TRF friends
I am thinking of adding a longines to my collection
I narrowed it down to one of the two below models. I have large wrist so the 42mm (first one) or the 44mm (second one) would fit me well

Any feedback or reviews on either?
Any words or wisdom or warnings on either?
Finally I like them both equally so please help me decide which one

I think they are great value. I had the moonphase cal chrono for a short while.

They wear ok, if not a little thick.

Longines has always offer great bang for bucks. I would give it a go if that's the kind of watch you are looking for.

I would love to own one again if I can find a nice sample of 18k gold case :D

Longines makes a very nice, attractive watch with excellent quality for the price, especially since they're usually discounted a fair amount. I don't think you'd go wrong with either watch so choose whichever one you like better.

Interestingly enough - I'm having the exact same thoughts and was looking at the exact same two Longines'.

My case, small wrist, am thinking the 40mm Moonphase Triple Calendar. Need to stop by a Tourneau to see it in flesh. At $2k they seem to be tremendous value

I've often been tempted to buy the retrograde moonphase.
The dial layout looks better in my opinion, being more symmetrical than the subdials.

I have the retrograde and I would recommend it. It has an amazing number of cool complications in a surprisingly balanced layout. As mentioned its a lot of watch and quality for a reasonable price. Pretty thick but overall a great watch.

Have you considered buying older but still modern models? E.g. check out their heritage 1973 model. I would love to find one brand new.

I sold mine to my neighbour awhile ago. He saw it a couple of years ago and every once in awhile he'd bug me to sell it to him.

I liked the watch, but finally relented and sold it to him and gave my wife the money to spontaneously get something for herself...win/win...YAY!

Beautiful pieces, can't go wrong IMO...
