Model 1002-1005 Rolex OP
Hi all. It's been awhile. I have recently purchased a cherry 1959 Oyster P. Don't believe case has been cracked before I busted a few knuckles.
Anyhow, Between lugs at 12 it is marked 1002 Registered Design and on case back it has 1005 in bold figures IV59 and at lugs 6 serial nr 57XXXXX. Below in faint figures it has 1002. My question is what is the real model nr? Thanks, Mike |

You’ll need to share some pics of that one...I know it’s been 6 years but maybe get some more posts here and there swiftly so you can post them.
In the meantime, the Oyster Perpetual 1002 should have a smooth bezel - depending upon the s/n it could have two different calibers inside. Yours should have a 1560 inside based upon the s/n. A 1005 usually had a fluted bezel. But your watch could have parts from either interchanges over the years. And if anything ever got perished inside you may have a different dial. Lastly, a ref. 1008 had an engine turned gold bezel and crosshair dial. So now you see why pics are a necessity. And as long as you’ve had the caseback off, include pics of the movement (make sure the caliber is visible). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Well, I am not very computer savvy...Pics later.. But, the watch has a 1560 movement and a smooth bezel. I am intrigued by the gears color, they faded out..Thanks again, I am going with a 1002 model.
