La Differance No longer AD

There were some questions being posed a few days ago about whether or not La Diff was an AD in Toronto.

I found out Thursday that they no longer are.

What's disappointing is that I walked into their shop and after talking about Rolex watches, I asked them quite candidly whether or not they were Rolex AD's as I noticed their name was no longer listed on the Rolex official website.

She wouldn't give me a straight answer to which I answered "I guess that means you're not a Rolex AD". She seemed disappointed, but it was a fact. I told her, so in essence, you are now a grey-market dealer of Rolex watches.

At that point I just walked out of the store.

I walked next door to Royal DeVersaille and they told me as of Jan 09, La Diff lost their Rolex AD status. She told me that they have some great deals on whatever Rolex models they have left as they want to get rid of their remaining stock. RDv stated that Rolex Canada saw no sense in having 2 AD's within a block of each other and then customers going back and forth between the two and pitting them against each other. As RDV has a bigger store and a dedicated Rolex boutique, La Diff got phased out.

Interesting. I called 3 weeks ago about SS Daytona and a lady said she would add my name to the "waiting list". So I guess there is no need to wait anymore ...

That's the worst explanation I have heard....there has to be hundreds of AD's that are within blocks of each other. Sounds to me like they were not selling enough product.

I was in there strictly asking about the SDDS. I didn't even look into their Rolex display case.

From memory from one of my other visits, they didn't have any professional models. Most were Day-Dates, Just-Dates, Air Kings, more or less dressy watches.

If they do have any professional model watches left, they'll probably be of the TT variety. Seeing as they are not AD's anymore, I'd ask for 35% off on the TT and Gold models.

Give them a call and give them a list of what you're interested in. They may have it.

While at RDV, they had pretty much everything in stock accept a SDDS, a SS Daytona, and a GV Milg.

Whiskey I told you that Damiani has a DeepSea on display, you have to go in person to speak to Claudio and try and get something off. Remember you won't get if you don't ask.

La Swiss was an Rolex AD in the Toronto area and lost there right in staying a Rolex Ad for the sole reason of over discounting and giving discounts over the phone.
