White Daytona vs Blue Skydweller
Don't ask me how, but I have a choice of getting the White Daytona or the Blue Skydweller.
I love both equally, and I know it's been addressed in other posts. Just want to throw it out there again in Spring 2019. Maybe opinions have changed. |

The Blue Sky D is a bit harder to get at MSRP.
But depends on what you want and what you already have. |

Only reason I lean towards the Blue Sky is because I have so many chronographs. But I don't want that to be the reason why I choose one over the other. I feel like a decision this big should be independent of that!

Both drool-worthy pieces, but I've always coveted the white dial/black bezel Daytona. The Daytona is also less bulky than the SkyD. Just my take.

I'd just favour the D500, also easy to get a blue DJ as a pairing for it.

I see the Daytona as more of a jeans and T-shirt watch. You can dress it up or down no problem. The blue skydweller is gorgeous and surely is a little more on the dressy/flashy side. Really depends on what you are going for. Kind of apples and oranges.

I love the stainless steel version of the Sky-Dweller. It is a thick watch with some heft to it and I found the solid gold versions a bit heavy for me.
I like the solid gold versions of the Daytona better than the stainless steel variants. The Daytona is svelte and sleek compared to the Sky-Dweller and I kind of like how the extra weight of the PM versions feel when I wear the Daytona compared to the stainless model. So, basically, if you can only choose one of the two you were offered, I'd go with the Sky-Dweller.

I prefer the Daytona, but since you already have several chonographs I think the Blue Sky is the way to go!

Either are great watches. The Daytona fits me better. Also the Daytona is a grab and go watch. The SkyD is a great only imho otherwise the annual calendar is more of a nuisance then and advantage.

The blue skydweller is gorgeous. However, it’s a bit too bulky for me.
The Daytona, while also gorgeous, is the most comfortable watch on a bracelet that I’ve ever put on. The ceramic bezel makes it appear bigger, but it feels very small on the wrist. Love it

I'll take which ever one you don't take.
I think you should take the Blue SkyD. |

Me personally I’ll take Daytona. The SkyDweller has grown on me but besides the blue aspect of the dial I still find it ugly (here come the pitch forks) and large.
Choose whichever watch sings to you more be it looks or functionality. You can’t go wrong. |

Sky-D is the most complicated modern rolex.
Am also setting my sights on one. Before i was locked in on the blue. But now it’s the chocolate everose that’s singing to me. If both are available at srp, id say get both. You wont regret it. Easy to dispose if you have buyers remorse. |

Can't go wrong with either...for me, I'd choose the Daytona. I prefer watches that are 40mm.

Depends how you look at it...
Skydweller if you want new kid in the block... Daytona if you are into the history... Either way you are in a good predicament...I am patiently waiting to get “the call” and am told the Daytona will be shortly, but the SkyD won’t be for a little while. I think I personally prefer the skydweller, but only marginally... |

As someone who is not in love with the Daytona, you should pick the Daytona.
The SkyDweller is really, really aesthetically unpleasant. It might actually be my least favorite men's Rolex model (perhaps second to the Air King). |

While the SkyD is lovely to look at, I think it is ultimately less lovely than the Daytona. It's big(ger), bulky & if you don't wear it daily & it dies, I'd imagine setting it will be a minor annoyance when you go to put it on. If you get the SkyD & decide that you hate it, I doubt you'll take much of a hit selling it.
IDK man, this is a tough call. At the end of the day, I think that if you have other chromos, try out the SkyD. It's new, it's different, it's mega-flashy, especially with that gorgeous, sunburst blue dial. |

I think both are absolutely wonderful. I have never seen the blue dial in person so it is very hard for me to say. I think it would come down to what you plan to do with this watch. Is it going to be a rotation watch that will get worn time to time (pun intended) or are you looking for something to wear a few days a week? I currently have the Daytona and I let the skydweller (white dial) go for it. I loved the skydweller but I wanted a watch that I was going to rotate with the SD43 and I found that the skydweller was too close in size and weight to the SD43 and I wanted something lighter to rotate. I have zero regrets. If your other watches are on the larger side then I think the Daytona may be the way to go as it gives you that smaller option in the rotation. I also liked the fact that the Daytona was good for a rotation watch as it is easy to set if the power reserve was out.

Chrono vs annual calendar ... two different references completely so I’m sure one must have more appel than the other.

Buy the one that fits your wrist best. The skydweller is 2mm bigger than the Daytona. Try them on and go with the one that fits and makes you smile more.

Of course, I have done that already. They both produce equally wide smiles. Just looking for angles I haven't thought of yet!

That is one tough choice, both stunning pieces. Guess I'd have to go with the SD on the basis of the blue dial. Don't have a blue dial watch and the color would be a nice addition.
