My Watch Is Back from Rolex!

I know its not that big of a deal but I turned in my first, the subby to my AD to send to Rolex for regulation since it was running +17 a day. I turned it in on the 10th of January I got a call Saturday (Feb 7th) that it was finally here and running perfect . It seemed like an eternity. I doubt anything else was done to it. Again it might not mean anything to you guys, but I'm excited. I'm picking it up on Tuesday and I'll post pictures of it after.

Good for you, rickyslam. I am interested to know what was done & how much it cost you.

For sure I'm so excited. Well it was sent in for free I think. It was still within it's warranty.

Congrats. That's always a tough wait. Last time I did it was about 1 1/2 years ago.

Glad you can pick your watch up soon, but cannot understand why it took so long to regulate your watch. Its just a 30 minute job start to finish, and in most cases can be done while you wait. The London RSC has done quite a few for me while I waited. And if AD has in-house watchmaker a very simple task to do again in most cases while you wait or call back in a hour or so.

I have an RSC do a couple of regulating jobs for me as well. They want to keep the watch at least 6-7 days so they can completely monitor the watch to make sure it runs accurately as it should. They hook it up to their winder, without manually winding the watch, take it out of the winder at night and again put it back the next morning, for at least 4 days, thereby simulating the arm movement of a person as if it was being worn.

I thought it took as long as it did because of the rush from being closed on Xmas to the new years. But the wait is over already. I’ll be picked up tomorrow. Until then excitement for the remainder of the time.

Ok so I picked up my Sub. It went from +17 a day to -1 a day. I guess that is pretty good accuracy. I just wished it was +1 a day instead =(

I totally know what you meant. I turned in my YM to the RSC in the summer of 2007 for a service, and again in the summer of 2008 for warranty work. They were both very long absences. I also realized how dependent I became on my watch's date feature.

Enjoy your watch!
