Advice needed please guys. Genuine?

An old workmate just sent me these pics of a watch he’s seen for sale on a local Facebook selling page & has asked my advice.

I’m no expert but what do you guys think? When zooming in I can see a strange mark underneath the 6 o clock hour marker. Not sure if just a bad quality pic & also the engraving on the rehaut looks a little bigger than on my Explorer.

Any thoughts welcomed so I can pass it on to my mate. Thanks!

Not sure if it's fake or not. I'm leaning "yes". Either way the polishing job especially on the bracelet looks like it was done by a freshman year shop student.

My advice would be to run, not walk.

Wonder what the price was? I’m always interested in how a non watch person is up for potentially buying a ‘rolex’ via some terrible pics on Facebook. My money is on it being cheap which is the first hurdle they should learn to stop at.

I also find it interesting how some people can buy this stuff and be content it’s genuine. A chap I know (who knows I service watches) asked me to repair his Tag Heuer. At no point did he mention it was fake but he sent me pics of the issue and it was clear to me it was fake. This is a guy that daily’s a genuine omega speedy. I pointed out it didn’t seem genuine (reluctantly) and he confessed to buying it cheap in a pub but he said he still thinks it’s genuine. Once I told him the repair would be a couple hundred £ in parts alone plus labour he then wasn’t so sure it was worth investing in. Especially when I told him if I was right the parts wouldn’t even fit and he’d be paying me for them and still have a broken watch.
