Which watch has more “pop”??

For my next watch, I’m looking for one with a bit more “pop”. Something with a little bling, wrist presence, sparkle, whatever we decide to call it. Nothing crazy, just a little something something.

In any event, after carefully considering this over several months, I’ve narrowed it down to the following two. Either a DJ41 with the blue dial, Jubilee bracelet, and non-fluted bezel. Or, the BLNR with Oyster bracelet (which I realize is discontinued).

So availability, price, and functionality aside, which do you think has more of what I am looking for? Thanks everyone for any feedback.

Out of curiosity, why have you ruled out the fluted bezel on the DJ41?

Jubilee pops more. Maybe put the jubilee on the BLNR?

Agreed. The fluted bezel gives that "pop" that you mention you are looking for. I am not in any way saying that the smooth bezel is bad looking, just wondering if you had considered fluted.

the jubilee bracelet is very blingy, if you've never seen one in real life i suggest you do. also like others have mentioned a fluted bezel would also fit what you want more

No doubt in my mind the blue dial w/Jubilee would pop more. If you had a fluted bezel, even more so. Nothing about the BLNR is really out there. If it wasn't for the touch of blue it would be a very plain black dial GMT.

Now, you didn't ask which was the better watch, so I won't comment there, but I will say anything with a blue dial, especially with a gradient effect, is going to catch more eyes. So the DJ wins.

Unless of course you wanted to pick up a YG DD and start flexing.

Like others have stated, fluted DJ 41 with blue dial IMHO.

You say it’s for your next watch. Are you adding to your collection? If so, what do you currently have? The DJ41 is a little different to the normal Sports type watch and can be used in almost any scenario - sports, casual, smart and special occasion. But these things may not be useful to you?
So, either really but I think to be different, the DJ41. Also available new from an actual AD!
I have the DJ41 Rhodium Stick Dial, smooth bezel and jubilee. Great combo, great watch!

To answer a couple of the questions posed here:

-Just not overly drawn to the fluted bezel. Not sure why but it doesn’t sing to me.

-Current watch is a Submariner 114060. But I didn’t want to get into the whole “this watch would compliment the Sub better” argument.

Between the two, I'd go for the Batman (if money was no object in this scenario). IDK what your current collection is like, but as a fluted DJ owner, it is an unmistakable, beautiful addition to the DJ. Why not consider that?

Yes that is why I stated price and availability aside. Just mainly considering “looks” at this point.

BLNR is the one. You won't be sorry in the long run. The DJ may be more superficially blingy but I feel that the blnr has a longer lasting deeper bling.

100% BLNR. The Datejust 41 just looks like another old Rolex but the BLNR shouts at you from 20 feet away.

I don't think you know what the word "subtle" means.

I love my DJ41 blue dial, smooth bezel on jubilee. The bracelet really pops. I’m sure adding fluted would add another level of pop, but for me personally, this was all I wanted.

I own a SubC 114060 like you and the exact Blue DateJust41 that you are considering. I love the Sub but I rarely wear the DateJust. Not sure why but I’m not sure that I will keep the DJ.

The BLNR that you are considering buying could take the place of both watches. Unless you really want to have those two watches in your collection.

To answer your question as posed: I would choose the DJ41 with the blue dial, Jubilee bracelet, and non-fluted bezel over the BLNR to give you your described level of bling.

BLNR, unless you reconsider a fluted bezel on the DJ.

That’s funny, we must have the same tastes!
