That seems suspect. The only front shot is cut and pasted. All the other shots seem to indicate a midcase that’s too thick.

Buy the seller. If you’re not sure about it then move on, at the end of the day it’s a lot of coin to risk it.

looks ok to me. i think the one picture makes the case look thick but it may be just the angle, the others look fine. i also think the picture taker takes horrible shots. just horrible angles and not very informative photos.

Any Warranty Card or other paper work?

Just to be on the safe go and get it Authenticated, I would!

That pricing is a big red flag imo. Have you seen the paperwork? Is it a 116520 with an aftermarket ceramic bezel fitted?

The case seems a bit too thick, clasp looks cheap. I would pass

WOW that is a great for a 500c but I would get it checked out by RSC before buying it, if at all possible.

Why is the white tag faced down?
No warranty card?
Better not to buy

I don’t necessarily see the mid case issue. It looks fine to me and may just be the angle. The price does cause a little concern however. I’d want to see a photo of the other side of the swing tag and a photo of the matching serial.

If the seller was ok, take it to rsc for a service quote. That will tell you if real or not. It could well be a 116520 with aftermarket bezel at that price.

Of course if the baulk at that, walk away....

Looks quite good to me, but the price is alarmingly low. Even for the 116520 with an aftermarket bezel, the green tag implies it's once of the very late 116520 with 5 y warranty (their last few months of production) and polished inner clasp (rare), and these also go for more than 16K. Unless it's missing the card?

Impossible to tell if any watch is real or not from a few vague photographs.

Spending money like that with some ‘random’ on eBay without having seen the watch in person or being able to pick it up & inspect it up close is crazy & quite frankly foolish.

Either buy from an established bricks & mortar dealer who has a reputation to lose or from a trusted seller here on TRF - stay away from the bay..

Subdials are not right for a D500, and price suggests a fake rather than a 520 mod, so hard pass.

This’ll likely be a good education on lesson #1: “always buy the seller.”

I see no red flags with what I can see, but would need better photos (untouched) of dial and rehaut.
My feeling is "photos" are a genuine Rolex?

Even if it IS indeed authentic, I wouldn't pay $16k for a watch with a clasp like that.

Afraid it could be a franken build. Be careful OP.

I'm a bit skeptical of the case.

Legit check ceramic Daytona?

I can’t put my finger on anything with those pics.

Not sure what another comment meant about the dial because the head-on pic is so blurry. A legit dial looks the same.

But the silk screened text looks funky on the one OP posted when I blew it up.

Those pictures are stolen from one of my listings. First off you wont find a 116500 anywhere for 16k so no point in dreaming. The watch pictured in all pictures is very real but as I stated not his pictures.

Thanks
As I thought watch looks genuine from photos.
Photos are real, seller is the scam!

So, what "marketplace" did you see this listed on?
And what "third party" authentication service/site was it?

Glad Tristyn found this thread. Nice save.

Wow, glad someone caught this. :( 16k in the hole wouldn't have been pretty!

What's the site? -so we can report/remove the scammer.
