Icon5 What do you think of $40k+ Daytonas...?

I was shocked to see some of the prices on the PM DAYTONA and was curious what you guys think about it?

Being a PM DAYTONAowner, I welcome it however If I was in the market, I would Question why such a huge increase...?

Not saying they are not wrth it, just wondering, "Where's the fire?"

The era of discounts on PM is over :-/

I think 40k for a gold Daytona is nuts, but who am I to judge.

All PM have increased.

I'm amazed at the asking prices for full Rose Gold Skydwellers now. I picked mine up BNIB for $34k. They are over $40k now.

Even YD DD40s are approaching $30k. Most Rose Gold DD40s are over $30k now.

To be fair, it seems as it's just certain models, like the green dial, that have surpassed the 40k mark.

It is a really interesting time for Rolex. I never thought I would see most PM models going for MSRP or a premium with ADs/TS. I won't be buying one, but I really hope that it passes.

I didn´t buy a Rolex for quite some time now but still there are great deals to be had for PM references. ADs are still willing to discount PM but not the way they did a few years back.

Unfounded.

I would love to see a statistical analysis of actual realized values comparatively across the market share - correlated to the number of total sales by reference. I think that would be quite enlightening.....

⬆️⬆️⬆️ Agree. Only on certain models from what I’ve seen. The green dial is waaay overhyped/over priced right now. The YG , WG, PT has risen steadily along with the SS movement, from what I’ve seen. There are the outlier asking prices, but resellers are definitely testing to see what the market will bear

I don’t put value in beauty. Who cares if it’s 40k or 1k. I can spot a beautiful watch miles away and Daytona is one of them.

I’m not a Daytona guy but if I were I wouldn’t be at 40K unless it was platinum.

That green dial is a stunner
