Ripped Off

I purchased an item here from a member jtw40475, back in June '08.
I sent him the $320 via money order and still have not received my item,
and now he is not responding.

His name is Joe Woods, 228 Savannah Drive
Richmond, KY 40475 United States.

He also sold some Rolex gold wave pens here, and some items in June '08, and I was wondering if the members ever received them?

...second, I googled Joe Woods, Richmond KY and found 3.

...1) Joe D, age 72.
...2) Joseph W, age 67
...3) joel, no age.

...third, did you get CONTACT info from eBay, using the ebay item# etc??
If so, did you call?? If not, do you have a phone # that I can call, from the contact info??

That's correct. It was a rolex dealer item bought from a member of this forum, his handle is: jtw40475

Also it was a Canadian money order, and I do not have the copy

...if you had your copy, you could check to see if it was cashed. If it was not cashed, then you could probably get a refund if you had the receipt.

Good work Stan, good point Orchi. Now Jeff, no offense but it sounds like you got a pretty cheap lesson. Alot of people have had thousands multiple stolen from them across the web.
Words of wisdom I have learned here and elsewhere is buy the seller, not the item.

Tracking info, copies of paperwork and one should always leave a trail to walk back down when trading.
I am not for anyone getting ripped off, sickens me. But Jeff's lesson is a great deal cheaper than some of the other horror stories I have heard, read and had happen to me.

Might be time to let a scab grow over the wound and chalk it up to a learning lesson.

Thanks for responding. I value your opinion as you are a respected member of this, and other forums.

I have been following his activity and was also wondering why he has stopped visiting here. (Maybe he has a new handle?)

Yes the sale happened in June and we were still PMing back and forth until about September about why I hadn't received the item. Never once thru the whole ordeal did he initiate any of our conversations. I never wanted to out him here on this forum right away until I gave him the benefit of doubt, as other members here jump the gun sometimes too early. Also I wanted to do as much research as possible before jumping too a conclusion.

Now that he is not responding to me, I figured my last hope would be here, trying to find other members who have bought items from him, and if they have received them.

Also, just as he stopped responding to me he also closed his ebay account, because one week I checked on him to see if he had any movement recently on ebay, and then the next week his username had be removed. Funny.

As I said before, I'm really just looking for other members who have purchased from him here before, and if they received their item.

Jeff, Possible chance of finding him could be through local law enforcement. I have a friend who is a deputy sheriff. I will ask him what he can do to help. I go close to Richmond often with my work and see if I can find where he is.
You can also send a certified letter asking for delivery confirmation and forwarding address as well.
My post earlier wasn't to be harsh, just a point how some (myself included) have lost a great deal more.
Another thing is we can hope he is at least alive and nothing had happened to him.
