Local AD Stock and Rumors

Decided to stop in the other day to my local AD in Boston just to see what they had. I was pleasantly surprised to see a bunch of datejusts, day dates, even a few yacht-masters, and a few cellinis.

Of course no professional models. While talking about the shortage the salesman mention a rumor that rolex is opening a new production facility, and that in the next 6 months he was optimistic that the production would get better.

Was he just blowing smoke up my you know what, or has anyone else heard something similar?

I read they’re slowly upgrading to newer movements for all their models, but don’t know if they’re expanding their capacity.

Would be good though, then we can finally buy the watches we all want.

“This gigantic watchmaking operation takes place across four separate sites. The beating heart of the watch (the movement) is created in the northern Swiss town of Bienne; the dials, cases and bracelets at factories in Geneva suburbs of Chêne-Bourg and Plan-les-Ouates, before the final assembly is done at the global headquarters in Acacias, central Geneva.”

It seems it’s not as simple as building a new factory...

Haha total BS. Even if opened up a new facility in six months there would be a long lag before production was increased enough to notice a difference at an individual AD. Your AD just wants to keep your interest. IMO.
