7206 authenticity check?

Interested in getting a 7206 bracelet for my 1968 sub. Are there any resources for determining authenticity?

Also what should one reasonably expect to pay. I understand these bracelets are expensive but seems like 2k is the going price for a decent one these days?

I don't see any issues with the bracelet.

From what I've seen, with some patience $2k should get you a pretty good one, reasonably tight and mostly complete. The price drops pretty quickly for stretched out examples, which can of course be restored.

This bracelet looks like the fake ones being sold on eBa to me.

The ones I have owned were always bent, misshapen and falling apart. If it’s new and tight, I would assume the worst unless it’s been sent for restoration.

Here's my take. Based on the limited photos that have been provided to you, I would pass. I don't like what I'm seeing. The 7206 engraving and 80 stamps look choppy. I think the bracelet has been put together. Which mean's I think it's sporting a real clasp but I think the rest of it is fake.

I been saying it for over a year that ebay has been flooded with 9315 bracelets that are completely fake. The same seller from china has multiple accounts stating they are based in CA. They literally take fake 9315 bracelets and rough them up and polish them down to make em look worn. I can tell by the engravings and the fact identical one's keep being sold at the same price point flooding the market.

The 7206 bracelets are a little more tricky, as the rivets are hard to fake as the real rolex 7206 bracelets have pointed rivets when knew unless they been polished down thin over the years. These rivets appear to be polished but also appear to be thick like on the fakes I see. The clasps are never a clean stamp, even though the originals are not so clean either.

I think there are better bracelets to be had and based on what I'm seeing, I would just walk away. If there were more picture's I could give a more definitive answer.. Just not worth the risk if something feels off.

This one feels off to me personally.

Here is a link to give a comparison that will give you a better idea of what you're looking at for now and in the future .

Juhuatai, here is an old thread of mine regarding the 7206 for comparison.

https://www.gmtforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=240

As Subking mentioned, the rivets on the fake bracelets are more rounded than the pointed rivets found on genuine 7206 bracelets. The ones in your photos do appear to be round. It could be as Sub King mentioned, a genuine clasp on a fake bracelet.

I've purchased and sold a few of the 7206 bracelets that were in very nice condition and $2,000 for a nice example seems rather inexpensive for a fully linked example.

Thanks all, after looking at the links provided, it does seem that the clasp is genuine but the rest is ambiguous. I'll steer clear of this one and continue my search. Thanks!
