Datejust diamond dial

Just acquired this Datejust
Not a fan of diamond dials but any chance it’s rolex rather then aftermarket ?

The dial is a poor effort, not by Rolex.

That coronet looks more like a constipated porcupine trying to squeeze one out.

Lugs may have been polished in a similarly weak effort to make it look more like the later models.

Bad Fake
second hand sadly too short ... coronet ? or a frog's paw ? ... and never seen this kind of typo on a date wheel ... bezel seems not to be in gold ... polish lugs ?

From the one photo I have I couldn’t tell if the marks on the bezel where caused by lighting or plate loss
It’s only 4 miles away and have arranged to view it at 2.30
It’s come out if house clearance

Definitely not factory Rolex diamonds. And that sure doesn't look like a gold bezel to me.

Nope! Its all about perspective. No need to be embarrassed; you should only be embarrassed if you actually bought it. Sounds to me you should be proud you didn't get taken.

Was this offered online by the seller?

Only asking since sharing the link in WatchOut!!! Would be a public service to the newer members.

As others said it was a clear fake but not everyone has that knowledge.

A friend cleared a house and the daughter had two watches she wanted to sell the Rolex and a tag
It was her dads and she seemed quite shocked when I told her it was a fake
Box and papers looked genuine it’s possible the old man was conned out of the real Rolex
The asking price was £600 with a drink to my friend so worth looking at

Thanks and I understand.
I’m sure she was sad. Did you take off the bracelet and/or the caseback? Since you had it in hand, that is the best way to tell.
