Incoming WG Daytona Oysterflex

With my 40th birthday coming up soon, I made the decision recently to sell 4 watches that I never wore to put towards one that I thought I would absolutely love. I say “thought” because I had never actually seen the watch in person (in WG). I let my salesperson know and she had it for me a couple weeks later and am wearing for the first time today.

I must say, it’s an incredible watch. With the oysterflex it wears so much different than my SS Daytona. The heft of the WG, even with the rubber bracelet, feels great. And, the oysterflex is certainly not just another rubber strap. The fit and finish on it is great in my opinion.

So, here is a pic of it on my wrist for the first time. Thanks to all of the enablers on this forum . Your pics of this watch definitely persuaded me.

Congrats! I got the same one a few weeks ago, and to be honest, it's so good that it kind of killed my 116500 black dial for me (which ends up being good, because I can take advantage of the premiums they're trading at currently ).

Win! The more I see these oysterflex Daytona I wonder if they could be a watch for all occasions.

Maybe the 116519 over the 116518 or 116515 but they are just a perfect combo of luxury and sport/ tool watch.

Many congrats.

A lot to give up, but with the bracelet version at least a year away you've made a good decision, enjoy!

4 that were getting no wrist time due to a lot of changes in my collection over the past couple of years. The ones I sold are:

1) PAM 48
2) Speedmaster 60th (wore big)
3) Ulysse Nardin
4) IWC pilot

To be honest the ones I sold probably hadn’t been worn in at least a year or two. My collection has changed a lot in the last couple years and these just weren’t going to be worn. I have a white ceramic SS Daytona as well but love rubber strap watches...very versatile.
