Oscar... come on already... The 88 - just pull the trigger...
Pick up HK Perf's on the For Sale section. He is a great guy and a totally trustworthy seller. His price for the 88 is unbelievable... http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=63629 Anyway, either one - you will love it. Looking forward to you getting it!

Oscar, my choice is 90. I like this power reserve model. But 88 is not bad too.

88 for me, at least it has a useful function with the GMT, i cannot understand why any watch maker would put a power reserve on the dial of a watch that has such a low reserve, it's less than two days, which isn't even going to cover a weekend away from work or a couple of days of not wearing it.

88 is more functional and popular, the 90 is pretty much like a 104 but with the PR gauge. I don't think the gauge is really worth the extra $$$$$ get the 88 my friend.

90 is the only watch I ever flipped. I prefer the 88 but the 90 does look good in person.

If it's simplicity, then the 104 fits the bill, the 240 if you want it in Ti. If you want even simpler then the 111/177 are the watches of choice.
It's the good thing about Panerai, there is a watch for every occasion, every taste and every wrist

Me!
I would prefer 90 over 88. Luv the PR indicator..and the new quick strap change systems!Buddy, put them 88 90 side by side and try them, sure one of them sings to you.
