The Kindness of Strangers
In a moment’s notice someone can impact your life and deliver a wonderful deed. Dhiren, a fellow forum member posted that he had two GMT CHNRs incoming. Rather than make a quick buck, he decided to let another community member buy it at retail. In fact, he had made that kind gesture once before with a Daytona.
That second lucky person turned out to be me. You see, like many of you, I’m deeply passionate about watches. Yet, without the needed AD relationships, I’ve never had the chance to own a new Rolex. To unbox it, remove the plastic, and adorn it on my wrist for the very first time is an unbelievable feeling. Now I get it! Fortunately, I’ve been blessed with some beautiful vintage pieces. I have many of you to thank for helping me find, buy and trade for a handful of treasures I hold dear. But, a few months ago I let me enthusiasm get the best of me and made an error in judgment. I fell for a $6k wire scam. Losing the money was a bummer. Yet, the discouragement that I felt experiencing the greed that has taken a hold of this industry hurt. It really hurt. So thank you Dhiren for your goodwill and selflessness. I’m been reminded that our collective passion is why I love this community. You are a man of class I can’t wait to pay it forward.

Fantastic story. I loved following the original thread though I thought it was Marcus who was originally lined up to get this piece?
