Glidelock is incredible.

I’ve been thinking about adding another watch to the collection at some point and it got me thinking how I totally underestimated the Glidelock feature on my SD43 when I first got it. Depending on the day, I may adjust the bracelet two or three times and I just don’t see how I could ever wear a watch without it now that I’ve gotten so used to it. It’s such a simple yet well executed piece of engineering.

Yes, I have the same on a few Rolex. I used it quite a bit at the beginning (novelty) and then forgot about it.

I have owned quite a few glidelock bracelets and once you go glidelock, you never go back! IMO

I added a glidelock to my 16570 Polar and love it. With temperature, humidity, and activity-level variations, I use it just about every day.

I do use it once in a while but IMO it’s overrated. In fact, if the sub wasn’t so thick and uncomfortable, you wouldn’t need glide lock in the first place. My last gmt and Daytona fits perfectly and way more comfortable than my sub and neither have glide lock.

absolutely loved the Glidelock on my deep sea, I prefer the SD43 in general as a daily but do miss the deep sea system, both are good but the deep sea system is far superior. Does anyone know if they interchangeable?

It is nice. The pelagos clasp is better.

I absolutely love it as well.

We just got back from travel in Italy and I chose to wear my 114060 for trip, mostly because of the glidelock feature and I wanted something under the radar.

When we arrived in Amalfi it was 20 and rainy. When we left Rome 15 days later, it was 37. I used the glidelock often during the trip due to the temperature swings and when we were hiking vs. shopping etc.

It’s simple, functional and built like a tank. Lots of LOVE here for the glidelock

I really wish more models offered the glidelock, it is a game changer and so easy to get the perfect fit.

Definitely a plus. I have a beautiful Day Date 1803, but the bracelet can't be adjusted at all. Sometimes it's rolling around my wrist, and at other times it's too tight (admittedly around the festive season and birthdays ;-)

I just wish the clasps with glidelock weren't so long. My 6.75" wrist is smaller but hardly tiny, and the clasp on a sub ends up being a significant chunk of the bracelet. I feel like a diver's extension and half the glidelock settings would allow essentially the same fit flexibility (that is, enough to still go over a wetsuit and adjust as it compresses) without requiring such a long clasp.

I agree with you to a point ... I think for the intended purpose (diver use), the glidelock is the perfect size / length. However, I’d like it if they came out with a shorter version for the other professional models like the GMT.

I never come close to using the 20 mm of adjustment. I’m guessing they could shorten the claps 50% and still offer as much or more adjustment than the easy link but with closer 2mm intervals. The easy link is nice, but I find 5mm is often too much extension when I just need to loosen the watch a touch

I'm also not sure what the fuss is about. My wife has never used hers on a new Datejust, it does bulk up the clasp. Maybe if you live somewhere humid it is useful.

I literally started a thread this morning on the same subject because I love my glidelock. If you are one of those lucky people who don’t swell or live in a non-hot and humid place, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but for those of us who swell and live in the South or a similar climate, it’s the difference that makes all the difference.

Anyone who doesn't get it definitely doesn't live in Florida. Or they are lying to themselves.

I agree, if they could fit a lesser amount of adjustment increments into a GMT sized clasp would be perfect
