Grey market watches

Looking at some good looking deals on Jomashop and was curious what everyone thought about the grey market

Buy the seller first. If reputation is solid and reviews are positive, then I would have no hesitation buying grey. Plenty of trusted sellers on this forum (for example: DavidSW) are good to buy from.

Great advice. Many now a days buy the watch.

No warranty cards from JOMA, though some good deals to be had. Have not heard anything particularly positive about post sale service.

I would use the search function on TRF and see what people have to say about JOMA Shop and our Trusted Sellers. Most of the big Trusted Sellers here have a website and a lot of watches listed. Take a look, see what you like and get your best deal after a little research. Look at what you can buy for from somewhere like JOMA and the resale values from the TS here and figure they are giving 10-25% less than asking for a trade or sell. Information is knowledge. Do your research.

I avoid Joma like the plague. Witholding earrsnty cards and holding you at the mercy of their warranty.

Search for the word “Chungking” and the review I posted giving an insight into the greys where you get everything.

I've bought from them a few times with no issues but all warranty is through them and not the watch brand.

If that's a concern then I'd move on.

I bought an SD43 from Joma and when it needed a timekeeping correction, took it to the RSC in Dallas. No problem since the watch had been registered to an owner by the selling AD and work was done under warranty.

How'd you find where the original owner bought from? Serial number?

The Dallas RSC did not tell me, only that it had been registered and was under warranty.

Best, Frank

I've bought a few Seiko watches from Jomashop. No way I'd buy an expensive watch from them.
