Safe to wear my GMT LN in London and YORK?
Hello everyone. I’m traveling for business to London tomorrow and then visiting YORK for a couple days after that. Is it safe to wear my GMT LN in Sadiq Khans London? I’ve heard it’s become quite dangerous

I was in London (centre) a few weeks back with my YG Daytona and never had the idea that they would rob me.

no, send it to me for safe keeping ........
on a serious note, if you've 'heard' and thus believe a place has become dangerous why on earth would you go ?? How old are you ? |

You’d wear it in Boston but not London?

I am going for work. I am in banking. I’ve heard bad stories on this forum as well as twitter.

I think as a whole, you'll be safer in York than London with your Rolex.

Well if you work in banking your Rolex will be one of hundreds so you should be absolutely fine!

I’m sorry but the question is offensively ill informed.
The UK is one of the safest countries in the world, considerably more so than the USA by any report you can find online. That being said, I never think twice about wearing my watches when I am in the USA. Common sense dictates you stay aware of your surroundings and don’t flaunt anything you can’t afford to lose. That applies in the safest to the most dangerous places on the globe. |

Do you really give credence to news about world affairs on Tw@tter?
That platform is full of narcissists, attention-whoring “celebrities”, the pathologically angry, professional trolls and the genuinely insane . The mind boggles.

I think I need to add York and London to my future travel list to amend this thread.

You’ll have no issue wearing what ever watch in London. York is a beautiful town, no risk what so ever there.

You really shouldn't wear your GMT in London, especially in the city, they're bloody everywhere and people will think you are common. You will have to raise your game I'm afraid.

I live near London and come from Yorkshire. The city of York and London are completely safe. Don't even start to worry.

The only thing to worry about in London is that you will feel like you've been mugged , after you buy a pint of beer
Eh up its grim up North , but the beers a lot cheaper I'm pretty sure you won't have any worries in London, & you would really have to go out of your way in York to find yourself in a potential mugging . And don't forget it's currently the height of summer in the UK .So don't forget to dress like the locals & this will help you to blend into the crowd , your raincoat ,wellies & umbrella will be needed . |

This thread made me laugh out loud. Yes don't wear your Rolex - everyone in London will have their eyes on it as soon as you walk off the plane. You will stand out like a sort thumb. And don't get me started on York. They are practically animals.

I heard that in Boston anyone who goes onto the streets wearing anything other than a suit of armour gets murdered by gangs of gun-toting goblins. No way I'd wear my Rolex there - or my shoes
