Daytona C and Speedy Pro questions
I'm trying to figure out which watch actually wears better on the wrist, the Daytona C or the Speedy Pro. Reason being, my AD said I'm next up for a white Daytona C. I believe the AD because they delivered my 114060 in only 3 weeks. If anybody owns the white Daytona C and the Speedy Pro, would you mind posting pics of each on the wrist?
I absolutely love the Daytona, but it's still over 12k at retail. If the Speedy Pro wears better, it'd be hard for me to justify paying 3x as much for a Daytona. I emphasize wear and comfort in this post b/c I find that my 114060 isn't the comfiest or best fitting watch, and I told myself the next watch I add has to fit like a glove. Any insight would be appreciated! (And no, I would never consider buying the Daytona and flipping it for a quick buck). |

I don't own either but tried on both. I think the Daytona is both more comfortable and better looking. Speedy pro is bigger, thicker and just... I don't know. Feels clunky on the wrist. The Daytona "settles" better. Speedy also has this kind of protuberant crystal that I found unsettling.

Maybe your sub is sized wrong. The glide lock is probably the best in the business

I'm considering the speed master moonphase (used - nos) as well......but more due to the fact that I simply can't get a hold of a Daytona. It's a great looking watch...speedy and moonphase so I think it's a tough call. Also think the omega is more casual wearing.
Good luck making the decision and and send some luck my way. |

IMHO the Daytona will wear more comfortable on the steel bracelet then the speedy. The Daytona is also smaller at 40mm to the speedy 42mm. With that said if you purchased the speedy on the black leather strap or purchase another omega strap the comfort will be extremely close to the DC. It comes down to personal preference my friend. Both are fantastic pieces. Since you currently have the ND sub , I would probably lean towards the speedy and you would have two iconic pieces with plenty of cash still in your pocket. Best of luck on your decision.

Two of the most iconic chrono watches ever made, I'd get the Omega while waiting for the Rolex. My set:

I supposed it depends on your wrist. I have both and on my 6.75 inch wrist, the Daytona wears 1000% better than my speedy on a bracelet , and still much better than speedy on a strap. Like a glove. Though I do still love my speedy, it takes a back seat to my dayC

I’ve tried on many speedies but never pulled the trigger, wears too big on my wrist .
As for Daytona, its super comfortable and the size is perfect for me. |

I have owned the 116520 and the Speedy Pro.
The Daytona fits me better, it's not as thick, it's smaller, it's lighter and the bracelet has more adjustability. It costs 5/6 times more with today's prices though....

I prefer the Speedy, but that's me, not you. As Daytonas are as common as gold unicorn farts, I'd buy it when offered, then pick up a pre owned Speedy for about $3.5K. Then you can wear them both for a couple of weeks to get a feel for each.
If you like the Daytona better, you'll lose maybe $200 reselling the Speedy. If you like the Speedy better, you'll make at least one billion billion dollars selling the Daytona. You're not really going to lose out either way.

What I'm picking up from the responses is that overall, the Daytona is the better fitting and more comfortable watch. I also personally think it is way better looking than the speedy. Thus, I would tend to agree that the Daytona C is the overall better watch. However, and I realize I am reframing the discussion here, is the price tag worth it? 12k versus 4k? Those of you who have owned both, is the premium worth it? I suppose I could get the speedy and postpone the Daytona, but my AD said I'm next up for it. In a nutshell, I wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity of a Daytona at retail, but I also don't want to shell out the money if it's not THAT much better than a Speedy.

Also, I love the idea of having both, but I wouldn't want or need two chronographs. I've set up my collection to where I have one of each kind of watch- one diver , one dress watch, and one quirky watch (longines legend diver). I simply couldn't justify 2 chronographs. One last thing. I get really attached to my watches, and would probably never ever actually sell one from my collection lol.

If you don’t want the Daytona, let me buy it and I’ll sell you a limited edition Speedmaster

I’ve had three previous gen steel Daytonas and am expecting a ceramic this year. I also have a hesalite Speedy Pro and am currently wearing it on bracelet. In my opinion both wear small to their relative size, both are pretty thin for chronographs. I like them both a lot, I would not buy any watch I didn’t intend to wear.

Daytona C and Speedy Pro questions
Daytona hands down better fit though I still love my speedy on a bracelet but fits best on a perlon strap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There is a reason why Daytona is a huge demand and price appreciation....
No need for hyping Daytona...clearly the answer is given. |

I have both and although I love the Speedy, the Daytona is the most comfortable watch I’ve ever had.

The Daytona is probably the comfiest watch ever made!

I like my Speedy but Daytona for sure! You won’t regret either. Easier to get that piece first then add the Speedy later on.

Get a Speedmaster because you want a Speedmaster, not because you like a Daytona more, but the Speedy costs less.

You need to try the Daytona if you get the call. To me it looks small and feels small, especially the dial, 28mm is not enough to display 3 legible sub dials IMHO. The classic Speedy Pro (manual wind) is not for me either, I find it kind of boring, lol. The good thing is there are many other Speedy models to chose from..

If you have the chance to buy at retail a watch that you like that is valued at almost 2x retail, why would you not buy it? You can always buy a speedy pro

All talk, not for 1 sec I believe you would pass on the opportunity to buy the D500 at retail.
