SS Sky-Dweller: Is it white, silver, or both ?

To any owners of the "white" SS Sky-Dweller: is the dial white, silver, or in between?

I like the white dial, but it looks like the hands would get lost in the dial when trying to tell the time. Anyone with any experience on the readability of the white dial?

I have a white dial and the readability is fine . The watch is also very comfortable to wear . Ive worn watch different times never a issue . As for the dial not a pure white the 24 hour side is a little lighter than the dial . One of my favorite watches

It's actually very easy to read first glance. Then again I have no issues with my SS Daytona's in black or white dial.

It is BY FAR, the most legible of the three.

It’s a chameleon... changes from white to almost creme/silver color.

Yes it is! Its not a sunburst type of effect but something different.

Falling in love with this watch (black was my first choice and could have got one but this made more sense as I have 5 other black dials).

It has some silver speckling of sorts that makes it look like this sometimes.

Both. Depends on the angle. The GMT ring is always white though.

It's perfectly fine. I had trouble with the blue dial hence why I went with the white dial.

Agreed. It may have to to with the dial material. It's as easy to read as say a Polar Explorer II 216570.

So I visited an AD today and held my 326934 next to a white dial OP 39mm 114300 and its the exact same color/material. I turned it in all different angles and the light played the same way.

Funny how the market is a bit hotter on the white dial OP vs black dial but in the SS Sky-D market it's the opposite (Blue->Black -> White). Had Rolex chose to adorn Roger Federer's wrist with the white Sky-Dweller, we could have been seeing the white dial in the low 20's right now price wise.

It's a good question.

It's not white in the traditional Rolex sense.
And when compares the overall dial colour to the sub dial alone. The Sub dial is definately white. No question.

If one takes a loupe to the dial and examines it with a little detail. It has a silvery shimmer to it and a silvery coloration.
In a way, it's sort of like the Silvered look of the traditional German deck watches. Only a finer grained interpretation.

So I say overall, it's a fine grainy Silvered dial.
It's rather sophisticated actually

I think the colour of the stick dial Skydweller is denoted/defined by the colour of the Sub dial.

Except the polar has predominately black hands against a stark white dial.

Mostly white. Very easy to see time. My favorite color of the 3.

It's not quite a pearl white, but it's close when viewed with the naked eye.
Under a loupe the texture gives it away more.

I have compared it directly by eye beside my GS sbgw-253 which has a pearlescent white dial and the difference couldn't be more apparent.
The graining of the texture of the Skydweller is more pronounced. And it catches light in a very similar way and throws it back out much like silver does.
It's very nice
But it wears fractionally to big for me otherwise I would've had one by now.

I think Ivory is the most appropriate color.

If it’s the same dial as the TT version, it’s not the stark white. I love the dial for that reason.

The white dial on the DJ41 is too white IMO.

I don't know that this is true and if you've facts, I'd be interested. Blue certainly seems to generate the most noise - followed by white.

No hard facts per say. The blue based on price, the black based on a marginal premium on the secondary market versus the white (est $500).

I looked at Bob's watches for buy prices.
