So I bought five Rolex SS models after a day of start stop start negotiation

Sometimes it pays to stop messing around and use the power of the multi-buy at a grey. Buy five in a transaction and provided your homework is done you can do quite nicely. A nice watch winder from Smythson in London will keep them in line. Part of a surprise bonus in Europe put to good use. The BLRO has been fun and a sentimental favourite.

In all my time here, I don't think I've seen an 'incoming' thread with five references!

Well done!

Congratulations, that’s quite a grouping

I don’t see a BLRO, did you mean to say BLNR?

I went in looking like I was homeless to lower expectations. To their credit they were respectful all the way along. I tried on a Platona (it was a bit heavy and I could have more fun with a library of SS not PM).

When my Centurion came out they balked at the fees I naturally refused to pay. My last “try in” was the Daytona C. “If you do this price, wipe the credit card fee and include the Rolex framed ad on the wall and two triple Rolex watch rolls. I’ll take the lot.....but you have only 2 minutes to say yes and start the invoice. Expecting more drama, he caved. Did better than my research estimated I’d do even on the bulk buy model.

Just finished setting the Blue Sky D for tomorrow. Let’s see how well the thick watch copes with French cuffs. Least of my problems.

Yes he dug deep and asked how he was going to feed his family, I’ll make him bankripped (sic), dismissively waved at me 80 or 90 times. Did he make some money? Sure he did but a shed-load less than he thought he’d make.

Already own the BLRO. That’s where the attraction came from. I did buy a BLNR on Jubilee. I do admit to debating the Oyster model.
