I spoke to my local AD today and his Rolex rep was in last week. According to him, the new SS Sub, which will arrive in 2010 will have an all brushed bracelet...no polished center link. I'm hesitent to put too much stock in his comments b/c who knows what Rolex is going to do at Basel this year...much less next. But I must say I would love to see a new SS Sub with an all brushed bracelet!!!!

No, but the point he's making is there wasn't a polished center link SS GMT-II either until the gold and TT were released with them and the SS followed.

The new Sub, currently in gold only have polished center links (as with the old ones), so some have been concerned that the GMT trend will flow to the SS Sub also.

So, if you view this trend as the end of the world as we know it, this rumor is heartening. Edit: If you consider both the recent release of the GMT-IIC and Millies, I'd say the odds are 50% that the SS Sub will have polished center links. If the SDDS had been released with them, I'd say it would be a 100% certainty.

The DSSD is fitted with brushed center links...

Maybe the next gen Sub will we in the same line... and i guess it will. The Sub has always had less "shine" than the GMT...

16710 had the side of the bracelet polished not the 16610...

Anyways will will know about it fast enough.

And for sure whatever bracelet will be fitted, we'll see hundreds of "New Sub, just got mine" threads around

I think the bracelets look 10 times better all brushed, when I went into David Robinson Manchester to try on the new GMT Ceramic the polished centre links put me off, they said it would be very easy to make it an entirely brushed bracelet, didn't want to be on the waiting list though.

Everyone can speculate as much as they want as to what Rolex will do and come out with. Why not wait and see what they will do and pass judgement then!!!

Well, again a key question. Will the Sub evolve in the SS models in 2009 or will that be reserved for TT models only? I'd say the odds that the TT and the SS get the same updates in 2009 is 50-50 in itself.

i have the same veiw!
i,ve got a gut feeling that the ss and tt sub could be reveiled at the same time.
with the current economic climate it may be benefit rolex to create new interest over the coming months.

It is perfectly normal that the Sub as well will look like the 18k white gold
but in steel...most likely the reference 116610

If it's not all brushed, I know a jeweler that can take care of that in a matter of minutes - Yes, minutes. Want to go back to polished, no problem either. Most likely no hollow links (or so I hope), so no need to worry that you'll cut through.

If this is correct then it is good news. Although I would keep the current Sub over the "upgraded" version (don't like the maxi dial and disproportionate looking bracelet), the fact that it will have a brushed strap shows that Rolex have not completely lost their marbles.

Whether or not 99% of users wear the Sub for jewellery is not an issue - the SS Sub has to stand and fall as a usuable divers watch and a number of divers on this site have said that PCL's would render the Sub useless for diving.
