Incoming thanks to TRFer inadeje!
So a few weeks ago inadeje posted here that there was a blue Milgauss available at his AD if anyone is interested. So I sent him a message to let him know that I was interested but that I live a few time zones away. He casually offered to pick it up and send it to me if I wanted it. I was kind of caught off guard by his kind gesture but I decided to take him up on it.
I called his SA to let him know I wanted to purchase it but I apparently missed out on it by minutes. Adiel, his SA, said he would call me if he gets another one. Fast forward a couple of weeks later. I’m in a meeting so I put my phone on DND. Thirty minutes later I look down and there’s a missed call from Adiel. At the same time I get a PM from Steve telling me that Adiel called him to see if I’m still interested. So I called Adiel back to let him know that I want it. Steve, on a Friday night, gets in an Uber and goes thirty minutes out of his way to pick up a watch for a guy he barely knows! Then he goes to FedEx AND UPS to get a quote for me. What a way to help out a fellow collector! I can’t thank him enough and am genuinely touched that he went through this much trouble just to help someone acquire a watch. So it’s not exactly a Daytona but get this. I have about $70K purchase history with my AD. Not VIP but not chump change. He’s gotten me a TT CHNR, GMT LN, and a Sub but he can’t get me a frickin Milgauss. I’ve been waiting for about 10 months. I don’t know if they’re really not getting any or if there are VIPs ahead of me that want this. Doesn’t matter now! The watch will be here tomorrow but I’ll share some of the preview pics that Steve sent to me. Mahalo Steve! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice going and great to see the support.
Curious how did you guys workout payment/trust each other? Could be a good lesson for the beginners around here. Me included, since I've tried 3x to buy a watch from the for sale section, but nobody wants to ship internationally :( |

Congrats!! And a huge shout out to Inadeje for being such a bro. I really think that is what this site should be about....not "how much will xx be worth," or "I scratched my case, should I send it out?" but about helping guys find watches they want to wear and enjoy.

Congrats on your Milgauss! Enjoy in great health
Nice to see a proper thread unlike these "investment" threads that currently ruin this great place. |

Ooof. Not sure I would have let UPS see what’s in the box. Glad it worked out for you.

Hey Tom, as a fellow collector I know how frustrating it is when we can’t get the piece we want. It was my pleasure to help, it took me all of 2h in total, so no big deal. What is a big deal for me is that you got the watch you wanted, Adiel made a sale (he’s a great young guy and very noble) and, I feel good I could help out. Rarely do you get to invest just 2h of your life to create good karma across the board. I urge other TRF members to help out if they can. Our community is strong and, we know who the genuine people are on most occasions. The watch is a stunner that wasn’t on my radar but, I may now get one . That blue sunburst is mesmerizing on the Milgauss, much more pronounced flare than my Hulk. Cheers all for the kind comments

Great post!! Steves the man!
He linked me up with Adiel and he contacted me next day and spoke for a few min, great guy as well! Great to see these kind of gestures and people are still around. That blue dial does look stunning, congrats! |

Shipping - As you read with the story, in my case I have many years of experience shipping expensive items. My rules with shippers are clear. 1. Full insurance 2. Signed inspection of the enclosed item by the shipper 3. Photos of the shipping label next to the item (this photo shows what I force the shipper to do) 4. Photo of shipper sealing box after verification above In the above scenario, the shipper messes with the item at their peril, if the box is opened en route and item is stolen, the insurance will pay instantly. Secondly the shipper writes internally on their system that they have handled and seen the contents so, its a serious risk for an employee to mess with that particular package as they’d be jobless in 1 day. Its all about creating a deterrent that removes any risk from shipping. I admit that it takes 10 mins longer to ship but, its an investment worth making.
