Adjusting location of a bracelet clasp??

I've got a little problem...

I own a Root Beer 16753, and so does my wife. Her's is the Nipple dial, appropriately (she LOVES that thing - - it actually sparkles!)

Anyway, they are both sized to fit the same size wrist (she and I are interchangeable, bracelet-wise), but the clasps are in different positions on the bracelet!
Hers fits, such that there is equal links on each side of the closed clasp, but mine has the entire clasp shifted towards the 12:00 pole of the watch. (by about 1 link)

Easy, you say!! Just move one link from one end of the bracelet to the other side of the clasp! Problem is . . . there's NO extra removable links! It's sized as small as it will go, methinks.

What to do?? Why is hers just right??? I'll include a picture: Any help is appreciated

There's a removable screw link on each side. THAT's the link that attaches the bracelet to the clasp. You have to have TWO screw-links to remove a link...

If I need to have a link removed by an AD, or a service center (like Giovanni in San Francisco), are there any warnings I should hear from all of you?

Can it be replaced later, if needed? If they drill it out, then there won't be a threaded screw hole, right?

I count 8 links on the north side and 9 on the south. What does yours have?

Can you take a picture of both watches side by side? Undo the clasp so the bracelets lay flat. One has to have an extra link somewhere.

I’m sure you’ve check this but are the clasp coronets oriented the same way? You haven’t set it up for a left handed or something?

Correct! She has one LESS link on the 6 o'clock side (the crown side of the clasp). Here's the picture:

Gotcha. How does your wife’s bracelet have one less link than yours if your has no more removable links?

I think that one extra link you have is just going to orient the clasp that way.

Does it fit comfortably?

Also, you gotta include pics of both of the root beers! I’m anxious to see them. Always been a fan.

Looks like you have the bracelet set on the outside micro-hole inside the clasp. This would be the largest setting. There are 4 more settings that will make the bracelet smaller.

Perhaps a non-removable link has been removed on one of them? Typically, you do not have equal links on each side, which would make the fit on the wrist lop-sided.

I really think that her bracelet must have had one link removed before we got this piece a year ago. Indeed, I think you can see it, one link below the clasp-connecting link, on her watch on the right side, above.

And, . . here's our little twins, nestled next to one another..
(Yes, we DO synchronize them occasionally!).

Interestingly, the bracelets are both the same size when I compare them on my wrist. You are right in that the pin is set into a different hole in the clasp, and that's what makes them the same size.

There's also a little different stretch.
Her watch has more. ( - - no comments there! )

And, if you meant to write that a NON-removeable link has been removed from her bracelet.... I think you're right. See my note above. Do you think that the disparity of the closest two links to her clasp (the bracelet on the right in the first picture) would explain that?

I assume both use the same micro adjust hole in the clasp cover?

The one on the right (hers?) appears to have had a permanent link removed. Look closely at how they taper at the clasp end. There’s a small ‘step down’ before the last link.

Without question, the bracelet half on the right of your photo in post #6 has had a permanent link removed.

That's exactly the confirmation that I needed.

Now I just have to decide if I want to do the same to mine - have a permanent link removed from the 6:00 side
If so, then I'll just add a link (I have plenty of removable ones) to the north side. Or just move the clasp hole looser.

But to tell the truth . . . I don't wanna change the non-removable links on this otherwise beautiful 62523H 18. Indeed, mine is in better shape than hers. (Probably the only thing I can claim THAT, about....).
And the truth is, I didn't notice it before I noticed it. (Geez . . . sometimes we gotta tune DOWN the analysis, right?)

Since you're in NorCal, contact Rolliworks. I think they might be able to remove a permanent link without mangling it so that it can be added back later. I had Giovanni take out a permanent link on an Oyster bracelet but it was pretty chewed up and not reusable.

We can help remove the permanent link w/o damaging it. It can and will be still usable in the future if you need it. If youre local just swing on by.

I managed a Rolex and other brands jewelry store for 36 years. I always fit the watch to the customer’s wrist and centered the clasp with the head at top center. This almost always made the 6 o’clock side shorter (with fewer links) than the 12 o’clock side. This balanced the watch very well. I had to have a permanent link removed from the 6 side on my President when I wore one. But it fit well.

That is a unique way to do this. Typically, the second link is simply pulled apart leaving a slight mismatch with the clasp-link and the (new) first screw link.

Although this does leave the half of the bracelet locked (no screw links), I like it, even if it is a bit more work.
