I mean from 50-70 feet away maybe you can tell something is on the wrist and would be hard to tell. But at even 15-20 feet, very....very different watches.

The Sub C is guaranteed to be seen from 1,000 feet away. The Daytona only 330 feet.

But in all seriousness, they are very different watches. The Daytona has the PCL’s on the bracelet, the plungers, a more elaborate bezel, chronograph dials, lack of a date and cyclops (if comparing to Sub Date), etc.

To a non-watch enthusiast, they probably look similar enough because they both have black dials and the black bezel. If you were really looking for it to stand out, I would try to get a white dial. I saw a guy wearing one of these a few weeks ago at an airport and it really stood out on his wrist.

But the black on black is beautiful as well. It’s a gorgeous watch in my opinion.

I don’t understand from a distance? How long are your arms, I bet when you look at the time you will be able to tell the difference I hope your not asking if people will be able to tell from afar if your wearing a Daytona vs a sub

This is a silly thread. These watches are very different.

From a moderate distance, I suppose you could say the Sub and GMT (LN) look fairly similar. Daytona is totally different looking though - the case, chronograph dial with subdials, and down pushers - very different watch.

I wouldn’t want a black dial Daytona and a black dial sub. Get a white dial Daytona and a black dial Sub.

when it's a white datona and a black sub is so different

To a non watch person a black sun and a black Daytona, its might seem as same watch if they dont.know watches

They're completely different watches. Just because they both have black bezels does not in any way make them similar.

Do they both look a like a black dialed watch from 1000 feet away yet. Yes.

However, when standing next to each other they are VERY different.

Or else you can say sure... they are similar watches... they both have hour markers, hour hand, minute hand and tell time. LOL

BTW i wouldn't necessarily call the Daytona a "race" watch. the proper comparison would be Diver (Sub) vs. Chronograph (Daytona). Chronograph is used to time and track rate of speed and has been used in racing.

1.) Chrono

2.) Bezel

3.) Dial

Those 3 alone would be visible from a reasonable distance. The dial alone is enough to distinguish the 2 from 25ft away. 3 circles vs...well, none.

Throw in the Chrono pushers, 3 circles and a bezel that doesn't even kind of look the same as a unidirectional sub and you've got a Daytona.

So...no, as everyone else has said. There's no way you confuse the two.

The three dials of the Daytona are what makes it an iconic watch, noticeable from far.

As someone who has both of them, I can tell you they are very different watches. Like others said for a non-WIS they might think they’re the same as they are both same color and bezel. Here is a pic for comparison
