Need help with my next piece

Ready to get my next piece while still in line for a BLRO and DaytonaC. I’m torn between the obvious classic black subC but now intrigued by the new Panerai Submersible now that they have a 42mm.

I realize the subC has much more history and a tried and true in-house movement, but I already have a hulk. I’m not sure if just a different color is enough for me to get the same watch.

The Pam is a nice watch, had the 42mm just never fit my wrist correctly. Can you try one on?

In the long run you can’t go wrong with the Rolex and yes the color difference is enough.

Pretty sure you'll get a lot of votes for the Sub here which makes sense. I love them. Have to admit though, I also love Panerai and own a few of them. I love them for "grab and go". I'm not one to worry about a watch - I wear them and use them and what happens happens - but the Panerai are often the ones I take when I know there's a good chance I'll be doing something silly.. haha. If you care about this kind of thing, they don't hold their value but so be it.

I also am intrigued by the new Pam Submersible in 42mm with the black bezel. I went to look at one this past weekend, but they did not arrive to the AD yet. While there, I also checked out the Blancpain FF and am smitten. I am getting a bit fatigued with the whole Rolex game right now, so it was refreshing to have some interest (to me and my AD) in other brands. And from what i gather from his passive comments, pretty significant discounts can be had on Pam and Blancpain (for now). If i was gonna submit and pay a ransom of nearly $12k for a NIB Sub Date, why not move upmarket and go for the BP FF for that same amount or slightly less (after discount of course) new from AD? Thats my mindset right now....

The only Rolex diver than intrigues me right now is the SD43, and its in the same price range as the FF. SD43 has the new mov't, all new shock tech, anti magentism increased, classic looks, and i like the size. Plus not EVERYONE has one. Hard to make a case for the regular old sub right now with the aging technology, especially at dumb reseller prices. A new release sub with an upgraded mov't and paraflex would be worth waiting for.

Submariner. You’ll have watches that have a different color dial and bezel as well as one with a date...different enough for me.
