1985 bluesy vs. today's version?

how would an older version circa 1985 differ from the popular bluesy i've seen of late? Are they nearly identical or meaningful changes?

Not anything really the main difference was the change from the Cal 3035 to the 3135 in 1989.Then around 2001/2 the laser crown on crystal started to appear. And end of Y series early 2003 non lug hole case and a few very minor bracelet, font and clasp changes. But most Rolex models in reality have changed very little since 1988/9 except in slight purely cosmetic details like change from Tritium to Luminova dial lume.

various updates on the braclets and clasps over the years also the actual cases changed in 2002 i think where the shoulders stopped having pin holes to solid end lugs.

the bottom of the dial changed to state swiss made from swiss t<25 as padi pointed out, this is the change to luminova from tritium.

And the newer ones have clasps (changed as Padi alluded to) with gold inlay to match the center links of the bracelet.
