Icon1 Equifax Data Breach Settlement

https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/case...ach-settlement

Anyone affected by the breach is entitled to $125 in compensation, plus $25 per hour of work you spent due to this breach (securing data, changing passwords, locking credit) up to $20,000

Hopefully no one was that seriously affected.

And you need to file a claim now to be able to sue later.

Anyone a bit hesitant to input their info on that site to see if they’re affected?

In claiming the $125, there’s probably language forfeiting your right to sue later. The situation goes from them stealing your information to you selling it to them...for $125

The class action lawsuit is over, it ended when they agreed to this settlement.

Now would be a good reminder for folks to continue to closely monitor their credit.

The FTC site should be OK. I would be wary of anything else.
