Do I keep my 2009 GMTIIc or sell and get the 126710 Pepsi?

As per title :)
Am so tempted to sell the 116710LN and get the new 126710 Pepsi.
But then I’m wondering if really I should be keeping it as it’s no longer made anymore. But then if I do that, I can’t get the Pepsi. LOL.
Too many nice choices out there :D

Have a great Sunday folks!

Which do you like better?

Where are you sourcing the Pepsi?

There would be a cash top off on your end if you go Grey market

If money isn't an object, I'd get a home safe and throw the LN in there... and then get a Pepsi. I think the LN stands a good chance of becoming a collector's item.

Sell the LN and get the Pepsi. The LN was an early step in the evolution towards Pepsi. The Pepsi is the icon and the long-term one to have, as Rolex has moved closer to perfecting the GMT.

The LN ran from 2007 to 2019 (which makes it the longest running ceramic GMT model). Obviously, values have gone up, but I do not predict it will be a “collectors item.”

However, it is one beautiful and very versatile piece!

Hi Fleetlord - the Pepsi would be UK dealer currently as the price is fixed at retail.

I love the LN. It’s the last tool GMT. The Pepsi and BLNR on the jubilee are bling.

Personally I'd keep the LN. It's an underrated piece and has finally been getting some traction since it's been discontinued.

When I got my BLRO, I intended to keep my LN which I loved, I even put it on a rubber strap to differentiate it even more from the BLRO so I would rotate them.
But ultimately, whenever it came to choosing which to wear, I always picked the BLRO.

I ended up selling the LN and do not miss it one bit, my only regret was letting it go before Basel as I surely would have been able to sell it for a lot more.

So I would say, sell your LN for the BLRO, especially if the only reason holding you back is because the LN has been discontinued. The BLRO is more likely to become a collector's piece than the LN in the long future imo.

With Tritium 1989-1997
With Luminova 1998-1999
Superluminova 2000-2007

Available with 3 bezels:
Coke
Pepsi
Black

Again, the black dial 16710 is probably the least sought after variant.

Black insert is also probably the least produced.

You will be a long time waiting for the BLRO from an AD - unless you have a great connection there.

Have a great Sunday folks!

I can see your agony here.

So the LN is a sleeper and always has been. I had the chance to get one even trade with my sub (small cash my way) in March - just didn’t like it on my wrist, but still appreciate the watch. Of course at the end of March, the GMT spiked once discontinued. It is understated in black, but has wrist presence with the PCLs. The touch of green makes it all that more special.

The BLRO is the nicest looking Rolex (in pics and on wrist) IMO. One of the few that justifies its mark up. Simply a gorgeous watch. The 16710 is to me one of the most romantic reference (for lack I’d better word) ever made. A modern version on jubilee is a real winner.

You can not go wrong. I would 100% get a Pepsi over LN but I completely agree with arguments the other way. In your position, the fact that you’ll give up a watch you love and 8-9k (I think) would be a deal breaker for me. I’d keep LN. if that is not an issue for you, then make the trade! You won’t be disappointed.

Great post Brny11, thx! I do love the LN. It was and still is my first sports model. I will think on it more, as like others have said, I won’t get hold of a new Pepsi anytime soon! Lol

You have an ALL TIME classic in the 116710LN. I personally wouldn't trade it for a Pepsi, even though I own a Pepsi myself. The secondary market price on that is insane.

We all want what we think is the latest and greatest and fail to appreciate the beauty of what we already have. I've had the Pepsi for about a week, but I would never give up a fantastic piece like the LN plus an exorbitant amount of cash.

Put your name on a list, be patient, likely 3+ years and most importantly, love and appreciate your LN for what it is.

If you have no connections and plan to pay retail only then forget it. Keep your LN and be happy.
