Question for SkyD owners

To those who own the blue dial SS, is there another blue dial anywhere in the Rolex lineup that you’d equate it to? From seeing many of your pics here, it’s stunning, for sure; although I can’t tell if it’s truly a unique sunburst or analogous to the Bluesy, for example? Maybe on par with the YM SS blue? I’m not sure, but would value your pics and thoughts, particularly if you own any other blue Rolex models. Thank you.

Also, to those who own the black SS variant, from certain pics, it looks as though that may be a sunburst, as well, which would make the black SkyD a truly unique black, correct? Thanks again.

Both the blue and black variants have sunburst dials. The white is the only one that doesn’t, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hold its own weight. The white looks amazing in the light, and turns to more of an ivory/cream color at times. I wanted the black dial, but when I saw the white in person I was simply blown away. The rest was history!

Can’t go wrong with any SkyD imo.

It is pretty special! The only other blue dial imo which is special is the blue dial in the White Gold Daydate 40 or the blue wave dial in daydate ii

It’s the same color as the DJ41 blue

Exactly the same. Also the same as was on the DJ2 previously. For some reason it caught fire after a decade! Seems another, near decade old color dial had the same thing happen. I’m thinking it was green.

This! In fact, after seeing it was the same color as the DJ2 and YM it really turned me off from the blue SkyD. I prefer a brighter more radiant blue like the Azzurro blue.

I would say that this is correct. Here is an old picture of my Sky-Dweller [IMG][/IMG]

I have black and it’s a slight sunburst. Enough to make the black a bit flashy. With the sundial in there it’s hard to tell that it’s a sunburst but it’s definitely there.

Is it the same as the blue WG Daytona? I know we’re talking SS here but I’m very interested in the WG Daytona, so the answer is interesting to me.

Black is not sunburst at all! Deep black lacquered black. Beautiful but has nothing to do with sunburst! Blue is surely sunburst!

Black is sunburst. I have a black dial so I know.

OP, the black sunburst dial is not exclusive to the SkyD, DJ 36 and OP 39 also have it. The blue is similar with the one from DJs, but not the same. It is a bit more electric and brighter in some lighting conditions.

Thanks to all. You know how it is -- we see all these pictures with crazy zoom and studio lighting, plus those on the actual Rolex site (which I often find inaccurate), so I wanted to hear from those of you who own. I appreciate you contributing, and I'm honestly leaning more toward black now.
