Small collection advice

Hey friends, I am looking for some advice. I have a relatively small collection. I have a 16600 seadweller thats a forever keeper, a pelagos blue that is a keeper, and a current gen speedy pro. I am next on the list for pepsi GMT at my AD and expect to be getting it this year. Here’s my conundrum: I am not always in love with the speedy pro. Sometimes I wear it but usually not excited to strap it on like my others. Ive thought of moving it and getting something different. But what? I tend to like tough divers and thought about a planet ocean or iwc aquatimer. But who needs 3/4 of their nice watches being divers? I dont have a nice pilot type and thought about iwc mark series or german pilot (sinn, damasko, etc). I figure a chronograph is a watch that should be in a collection, but honestly dont use the chronograph function. I thought about a dress watch (reverso? Cartier?) but I dont really dress up much and a pretty casual dude. I dont wanna spend big bucks because will be adding the GMT soon and dont want to deplete watch $. Any thoughts?

I'm the wrong person to ask because I love divers.

However if you want some variation and to get another diver I'd go for a black bay in red.

Panerai perhaps? Great deals on pre owned models nowadays and it’s a diver but offers a different look.

How about something like a GS snowflake that can be both sporty and dressy? It's also a white dial that will balance all your black dials.

Other options for chronographs with a semi-dressy look - Portugieser or El primero. But if Speedy Pro didn't satisfy you for whatever reason, I'm not sure if those will either.

I also have a speedy pro, and it is my only chronograph. I have been keeping it because: (1) it is an iconic piece; (2) it is my only chrono; (3) it matches with everything; (4) I have a bunch of strap buying mistakes and having the speedy at least gives the excessive straps an outlet; and (5) I would prob lose a little money on resale.

BUT. I am like you. It doesn't sing to me on the wrist. And I don't think the reasons above are good enough anymore.

So to answer your question, I'd move it along for something you'll smile every time you wear. Hard to do with the speedy given the fanfare it gets. But gotta be true to you.

Now what to get. In the same spirit, don't force a dress watch or something that is not you. I'd go for either another diver (who cares on the quota) or, if you want something a little different, go for a explorer 1 - this would be dressy if you really need it to be but a sports watch at heart.

Thanks everyone. IR201 I am alot like you about the speedy, its iconic and every WIS is “supposed” to have a speedy. I do have a drawer full of straps that seem to do well with it. I know I would take a bath on trading it. At the same time Im just not as crazy about it as my others. I also agree that a little white dial might be nice in there and have though about a polar 16570. Could still use the 20 mm straps...
