So I Took A Day Off...
I don't really rotate my giant collection of two watches. I just wear the Daytona every day. Put it on first thing in the morning, take it off for sports activities, and wear it the rest of the time (except sleeping). I do try to minimize opening the crown as the little insert that allows the crown to thread has been the first thing to go on my Datejust. I'd rather not have to get the Daytona serviced just because that thread wears. Whatever...
So I don't really rotate watches, and don't really wind them more often than necessary. So after about two months without being wound, my Daytona stopped on Sunday morning. I didn't wear it as much on Saturday as "normal" and I guess it was somewhat wound down before that. No biggie. So I decided to not wind and set it until this morning. Sunday I didn't wear a watch. Today I fully wound and reset it and have been enjoying it all day. Except for during my run. My point? I never, ever take the Daytona for granted and get pleasure out of it every day, but I REALLY appreciated it today! Maybe that's what you all do rotating a large collection, or maybe you might find if you went "watchless" for a day that you would have new found appreciation for your watch the next day. Or maybe, I just wasted two minutes of your life with this blather.

I never feel I've wasted my time reading about someone enjoying his watch. Sometimes that moment of someone else's pleasure is just enough to remind me to grab some of my own.
Thanks for the reminder! |

Nice to appreciate simple pleasures (even those that cost $70k). :)

I’m fortunate enough to have a few nice watches I can wear from time to time but I find that when I do “rotate” I generally wear for several weeks if not months at a time.
