Stolen Rolex Datejust 16014
About a year ago I had my Rolex Datejust Stolen in New Orleans, LA. It is a Rolex Datejust SS with a black face. Image included. The S/N is 8703866 model is 16014. I did report it stolen with the NOLA PD, with Rolex, and Rolex Tracker. If anyone has any ideas or could point me in the right direction it would be GREATLY appreciated. Can't post photo as I don't have enough post count.

Yikes and what a bummer!
If you filed a report with NOPD that is step one, did you follow up with the detective ever? I ask bc I live in NOLA, and not to trivialize your situation, but the Police here are pretty swamped in all sorts of crime, so non-violent theft usually does not get the same follow through as more dire crimes. I would call every pawn shop in the city, Metairie and other outlying areas and ask for that model number and see if it turned up in one of those shops. |

Ask the police officer who took your report to enter the serial number into NCIC (which they probably did). If it is recovered they will be notified. You can also check the local pawn shops local to where the theft happened I have heard of people recovering stolen property that way.
May we ask how the watch was stolen? Left in a hotel room? Seems to happen a lot. Sorry that happened to you.

Thanks guys. Yes it has been entered into the NICC as well as the Rolex stolen watch database. DHKnola, do you know if there is a black market for these types of watches in NOLA? Also yes- I've annoyed the "detective" numerous times. It happened right outside of one of the casinos with a CAMERA facing exactly where we were. I was also hit by the perps car as they drove off. So it was a hit and run as well. The original officer was an absolute prick and blamed me for "being out so late by yourself in a town you don't know" which I don't necessarily disagree with. He basically said I'm lucky to be alive and hinted at me just being a "rich kid" that shouldn't have been out.

Well I figured I'd give it another attempt to locate my watch. I just spoke with Leah at Rolex in HQ in NY, she has confirmed that the watch has still not shown up. Is there anyway to see if has shown up or was ran through the NCIC? Is there a chance the police department may have found the watch and did not call Rolex with it? Thanks for all of your help.
