Incoming...Code 11.59
Hey guys, I’ve been a long time lurker here and have been admiring the incomings and different pieces the members of this forum are sharing. I’ve seen most watches I’ve purchased shared on here at some point but thought my latest acquisition would be interesting.
To give you a bit of background...I started collecting watches around a year an a half ago - starting with a RO Offshore Elephant and most recently a Rolex Daytona WG Oysterflex. Along the way I picked up an IWC 3714, a ROC blue dial, a Patek 5712g, and a Rolex Sub (it’s been a busy and wild ride so far). After not really loving the IWC 3714 (mainly because I didn’t like the way it sat on my wrist and never wearing it), I started looking for a dress watch that was modern, innovative, and somewhat sporty…I’m not typically a dress watch type guy - favoring mainly sports watches that pair well with a jeans and t-shirt. Prior to the Code 11.59, I was looking at the Patek 5170p (which I still think is gorgeous and underrated), a Patek 5905p, and a Lange One. The Code 11.59 is a watch that has grown on me over time. To be honest, I wasn’t in love with the watch when I first saw it - especially the dial in pictures I saw online. As I read more about how the chronograph movement was developed, the finishing and details in the case, the convex glass, the watch began to grow on me - I’m really into the story behind a watch or products/companies in general. After seeing the watch in person (the chronograph dial is very nice, the finishing on the movement and case are simply awesome, and I love the skeletonized rotor), I decided to get the WG blue dial chronograph and pair it with a beige leather strap. For me, the Code 11.59 represents the cutting edge of high end watchmaking. Whether you like the dial or aesthetics around the watch (these are uniquely personal for the most part), I believe the innovation and craftsmanship that went into it’s creation are top tier. I’ve found myself wearing the Code 11.59 every day since I picked it up. I like the watch because it’s an active modern dress watch (if there is such a thing?) - one that fits what I want and not what others think. It’s a watch that represents me - someone who loves tech and innovation, enjoys the risk (and reward) associated entrepreneurship, but still doesn’t want to give into wearing the Silicon Valley standard Apple Watch. I expect as people see it in person and new models get introduced, the watch will become more popular (I would love to say I got it early and I saw it’s potential before the bandwagon lol). But even if it doesn’t, I’m happy I’m fortunate enough to own one and get to share what I think is a future unicorn. Last edited by lindyhppr; 9 September 2019 at 08:29 PM.. Reason: post pics |

Congratulations. Thanks for sharing the backstory and about your love growing with the 11:59. I have yet to see one in person to pass judgment, but I can't argue with the finishing of the movement or the innovation behind it.
Enjoy it and wear it in the best of health. |

Congratulations! I'm slowly coming around to the Code line. I do wonder if they will do a revamp on the dials and hands for the next iteration based on current feedback. The cases, in terms of size and design, as well as the crystal, are very edgy and forward thinking, which I like.

I’d guess you’re at least 18 months out from that happening, doing so within 2 years of release would really blow up the value for first wave buyers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The code 1159 Chrono looks WAY better than the standard nonchrono version. I actually love it...

Yes, I paid Hk retail which was 333HKD (42,400 usd approx). The nice thing is there’s no sales tax in HK.

Congrats and wear it well. Looks great on your wrist and I share the same rationale with you for the Code.
