AD that have stock of GMTs, Subs, etc...

Is the "shortage" only a US phenomenon? Or is it global? In what countries do ADs have stock?

Thanks.

From what I understand the situation is probably better in the US than the majority of other first-world countries. I’m sure there are some exceptions though.

You have no chance I’m afraid. I was in an AD the other day, they had only 6 watches on display, all gold.

Most stock is in South America. No Daytonas ofcource but exp,exp2,black/white skydwellers/subs etc can be found in the case if you walk in at the right moment.

What shortage?

AD's have product, just because the average person off the street does not have access to it does not equate to a shortage.

I second that! I got into Rolex community a couple months ago and wanted to buy a GMT Batman but I knew they wont sell me one given I have no profile. After buying a few other watches from one of the ADs, they told me they have Batman ready for me! so its all games. They do have sought after watches its just matter of wanting to sell to you or not.

There's a shortage only for no mark up AD sales. Plenty of stock for grey market over MSRP of course.

There is no shortage of Rolex. They make a million watches EVERY year. Go in to any grey dealer locally or chrono24 or any of the big online dealers and you will find new unworn examples of all your favorites. Grey dealers are the best customers of the AD's, as they pay above list price, hard for the average guy to compete with that.

Just got back from Eastern Europe (Vienna, Budapest, & Prague) and UK. No Rolex stainless steel sports watches available. There are a few steel & gold Skydwellers thats' about it. Friends that came back from the US said the same thing. Like Patek stainless steel there are very limited stock floating around. Waiting time for Batman is 1 year, Batgirl 3 years, Daytona (white dial) 3 years. For Patek 5711 no chance unless you know people and closely connected. Patek 5990 and 5712A, & 5712R or G no way. Was told it's 6 years wait.

Wondering what would be the SA reaction at AD if you would discreetly propose him the additional $3K bonus for the effort of getting you the BLRO sooner than expected ..

The UK grey market is dripping with them. No shortages there. So far as the AD network goes, there are not any desirable models for there to be a shortage of!

Although Rolex is not cutting production and AD's are getting as much if not more than ever, if demand cannot be met this is called a shortage.

I've tried that at two different national AD's in my area. I discreetly offered usd5k for either ceramic Daytona with a SA that I met several times. Both politely said no. I was shocked, but they have my number, and maybe one day they might call. NOT lol

A small AD in South Africa back in December had a few pieces in stock that I never see on display in the USA anymore.
