Totally agree.
After purchasing a Bluesy, a BLNR, and a $20,000 diamond ring, all within 2 years, you would think speaking to manager and asking to purchase a PM at retail for a Daytona my son wants, and being told they would advise me the next day, that I would have in fact received the decency of a follow up call.

They will never catch me there again.

You would think that they would immediately put your order in after being such a customer

It’s Boca Raton.
My purchases are nil compared to what they sell.
Irony is that the manager I spoke with, that promised to call me, is the very same person that completed the BLNR and Diamond ring transactions.

Honestly, thats not enough previous business to get special attention from most big AD's.....You would have to do that and more every year for about 5 years.......then you want any Daytona, including ceramic white dial or otherwise, they will walk into the backroom and come out with it.

If customer spends $100k at an AD, we can assume that's a net margin of $10-$20k for AD. It's probably closer to $10k than $20k in an expensive retail area, but let's say it's $15k in net margin. The AD POV would be that selling customer a DayC at MSRP which is worth $25k market value is the equivalent of handing customer $10k, essentially forfeiting most of the profit they've extracted from the customer. Should we expect the AD to do this?

Hell yes unless they never want to see another factory Rolex shipped to them from Switzerland

Rolex definitely would. The AD cannot do this math and sell to grey, or they risk the AD status revoked. Same can happen if customers sell their watches purchased from them, as Rolex tracks the serial numbers. So the math does not exactly work that way

They are a Watches of Switzerland company so they should have tons of steel sports, they're just in the safe in the back waiting for VVIP customers, and grey dealers willing to pay over list.

I think his point was he didn't even get a follow-up call.

They made well over 10K just on the ring. Jewelry works on a 6 to 8 multiplier.

BTW, my Avatar shows the PM I was looking into, that I instead decided to go grey and save $7000.
Not my loss.

Can you ask her to make it right with 123BlueFace and get his son a Daytona?

ECJ in Mizner always has a big selection if you would consider going grey

Thanks but that ship sailed.
I ended up picking up DD locally, grey, and took the discount.

Grey all the way................Went into 2 different AD's a few weeks back looking at a DD40. Neither would budge off MSRP. Went to see David and got 16% off MSRP on a fully stickered model. Works for me and no hassle.
