DJ41 Fluted/Jubilee/Rhodium available at Bay Area AD

Bay Area TRFers there is a DJ41 fluted/jubilee/rhodium at Fourtane in Carmel that might still be available. It was offered to me yesterday but I turned it down this morning and the SA said it was going into the display case. Good luck !

Thanks very much for the heads up. Apologies for the pedantry but Carmel is not in the Bay Area.

DJ41 Fluted/Jubilee/Rhodium available at Bay Area AD

I just got a call from Ben Bridges in San Diego about a DJ41 rhodium fluted on jubilee. I told them I got my blue dial and still waiting on a black submariner date. I am surprised they called me since I thought they threw the post it with my info in the garbage after I left.

Lol, that's exactly what I had originally thought with Fourtane as I had no prior history with them but asked to be put on the list at the time (~1 month ago). Even though I'm passing on this watch, they have earned future potential business from me .

I can’t believe it’s now in such a state that DJ41s are hard to find. They’re nice and all but seriously, wtf is this brand playing at. I don’t think I’d be alone to say that the appeal is disappearing, and quickly.

The appeal is increasing not disappearing, Rolex for up and coming professionals is the brand to buy, for the working classes it is the brand to buy. Those with a few Rolex's in the bag are moving on to AP and PP as the next watch to be seen wearing, but for a large number of people from all walks of life a Rolex is the watch to own.

Through clever marketing Rolex has got the name so well known that it is a brand that everyone aspires to, my wife who has no interest in watches other then whether it suits her or not, couldn't give a monkeys about a brand, she doesn't know who Longines, Omega, AP, VC or JLC are, the only two watch brands she has heard of are Rolex (from the advertising at F1) and Patek Philippe (Antiques Roadshow).

So people who know nothing about watches will look to buy a Rolex as it is 'the' most well known brand, it is something to aim for, to save for, to be proud to own. Rolex is now more popular than it has ever been, and until something else comes along it will remain as the most popular watch brand.

There is a two tone Daytona for MSRP at the bellagio casino here in Vegas. I see Daytona all the time, but they are usually not the better examples.

Oh I know this. I was speaking from a personal perspective as a watch lover, I wasn’t talking about the appeal of the brand generally or globally.

My wife watches TOWIE and Made I’m Chelsea (don’t ask me why) and every man, woman and dog on there has a Rolex on. I know exactly what you’re saying.

I think I’m just finding it all extremely tedious these days. Especially when I see posts about a Datejust being available as if they’re supposed to be hard to get hold of. My mind is wandering to something more offbeat. I just struggle to get past a Sub Date.

Not sure if datejusts are hard to come by... Think its more along the lines of hard to find the one you want as there are so many different combinations available for the datejust.

I don't think TT is *that* tough to find.. D&L in SJ had 2 of them a couple months back.
