Advice on new BLNR with defect
Just received this from my AD. After sizing and taking it home I noticed that there appears to be a blemish/oil mark/imperfection (shown in red circle). It’s not a perfect triangle or I would’ve thought it was intentional. I understand these bezels are fickle with the platinum/ceramic and RSC might not swap it out..thoughts/suggestions?

That could just be your skin grease, or that of someone else who held it. That is most certainly not a factory defect.

Whats the imperfection? Its hard to see. I have the same watch and if I look at the middle of triangle microscopically, if first looked a bit darker not bright white as the surroundings are but I dont see it as an imperfection or issue. Just sprayed air over it and now it looks good.

Maybe get a picture with the focus on the issue... but I don’t see one.

It isn’t a surface level observation. The local AD tried to wipe it/clean it and sure enough, it was still there. You can see that there is a darker gray in a roughly triangular fashion internal to the triangle in the circle.

Can't see what you're talking about... so what was the AD's remedy, other than cleaning/wiping?

They are willing to send it back to RSC to take a look at it, but they’re unsure if Rolex will do anything about it because that platinum may just have a slighter darker hue for some reason, but that it wouldn’t fall outside their QC standards. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Not a defect at all. Another member made a post about the exact same thing a few years ago. Just oil from fingers. (won't be the first time this will happen)
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=562803 post #6 and #41 - for remedies to this.

I’ve seen that before on these models. Not sure of the cause but it does occur in the triangle on these.

I know exactly what you’re talking about as the same appears on mine. When I noticed it, I was furious. I thought it was damage/faded.
When I place mine in a travel pouch, the upper foam of the pouch stains the bezel at 12 o’clock. I simply dab a little water on it, then wipe it away with a cloth and it’s gone. It reappears when I put it back in my travel pouch overnight, but never while I’m wearing. I’ll go days wearing it and it doesn’t appear. |

If some guy said you have a fake 'BLRO' it's obvious he doesn't know what he's looking at. Tough call though, If it really bugs you let your AD ship it since he said he would. I doubt it's a defect..

It’s been discussed here in the past. Some have had it, most haven’t, it’s seems very random. I’ve had a couple with this “stain” or whatever you’d call it.

The only issue I see with that picture is a red circle. Enjoy your watch

I don't see anything. But as with any other expensive product you buy, if you get home and see it is not perfect (like a new item should be) then take it back to get it rectified. I'm sure they have 2 or 3 blnr's in the safe waiting to sell to a grey dealer at over list.

I had the exact same dark blemish on my BLRO 12:00 triangle when I got it. I was bummed. But I tried cleaning it with some soap and water, just LIGHTLY scrubbed with my finger tips, and it was gone! Like other said, it’s just some oil or grease, you’ll need some soap to cut it. Hope this works!

Use steam if it is just finger or polishing oils. If the PVD has actually been rubbed enough to remove material it may be difficult to minimize.

Both my GMTs have that.
Doesn't bother me so I leave it be. |
