private seller Date 41

2004 date just 41 model
jublee
white / siver dial
18k gold bezel with box and papers.

priced 4500$. I had casually quoted for 3,800$ he said ok.

Can I buy it just for collection purpose or for some casual wear??

How can I guarantee if its genuine ? Can I take it to AD before purchase for service??

That is a 36mm DJ.

Where did you find this piece? I suggest you look into classifieds on here or another reputable forum. Please do your due diligence prior to committing $4k to a possible fraudster.

I don't get it? You're not interested in pre-owned?

This only is cause for concern.

The pictures appear to be taken in different camera resolutions. If there is any confusion, have seller do closeup of the engraved reference number and also with the watch set to a random time like 3:15 on the 30th.

As many have said, the price alone indicates a big problem.

If you’re looking for a used Datejust, check the TRF classified listings by trusted sellers and forego Facebook.

I wouldn't buy from someone that doesn't know what model watch they're selling .
The warning signs are there

Stay away from it. Spend some time reading the past threads here and almost all of your questions can be answered.

I like the pics, but those are just pics. At best the owner/seller isn't versed in Rolex models or what he's selling and is an honest person. However, too many chances and not enough guarantees. You must expect the worst.
