How Much Would you Pay Today For a Daytona?

Ok, the first premise is that the vast majority of people on here either would love to own a Daytona, or already owns a Daytona.

The second premise is that we are all concerned about the world's economy, so maybe now isn't the most opportune time to buy a Daytona.

Question: What is the highest price (in US$) you would pay TODAY for s current SS Daytona? Either black or white.

Thanks for participating :)

i personally would not buy the current model as i dont particularly like the PCL. For a good used older style i would do 7k-8k.

ive learned that the PCL bands look terrible with daily desk grinding and minor scratches.

With the premium, there are still people demanding this watch.

This particular model is just a victim of the economy, not because people don't want it. It's just a time of uncertainty right now.

The Daytona is a nice well-made watch but it does nothing for me.

The Daytona is not my favorite watch, but it definitely has its charm. That being said- $7,000 and anything under would start to get mighty tempting!

I voted $9925, MSRP. I would never pay a premium for a S/S Daytona.

I paid MSRP for my "M" series S/S Daytona.

I'm in the UK so prices are a bit different, but i wouldn't pay more than £5000 for a Daytona, they've gone up so much in recent years that for me they've gone beyond their worth. That would make it about $7500 at current rates.

20-30% off msrp, its where were heading anyway, my opinion anyway. Its still hard to imagine a stainless watch at 10k. Yikes!

Before I will paid $US12000 to 13k.

Now $US8k new from AD, if I'm getting another for this economy.

But if I really like the watch, I don't mind paying more, I still love my SS Daytona that I paid premium for, not a single regret.

I was wearing it the other night when holding the Oscar, it an unbelievable feeling ...

I think a Rolex has more meaning to some of us, not just a metal watch with a price tag.

If you like the watch and can afford it get it

I too don't really care for it much, and certainly not enough to want to buy one. I think I prefer my watches to be more simple....for me, the Daytona dial is a bit too "busy", and I can also do without all those buttons on the side of the case.....but to each his own!

I know there are alot of Daytona fans out there and on this forum, so to all of you, cheers!

Myself not a fan of the modern Daytona and just cannot for the life of me see what all the fuss over this watch.Sure its got a good movement but never worth all the hype especially over the SS models IMHO the TT is a far nicer looking watch.

Honestly, if I was given one for FREE, the first thing I would do with it is SELL it, probably to some daytona fan here on this forum. I would then put that cash aside until I come across another Rollie that I just MUST have. (maybe one of those anticipated new DJ's with the larger case....assuming they look better than the DDII.)

I said $7000 to $7499, because that's the range mine was in. I was not interested in anything beyond that price. I am totally satisfied!

putting tastes aside, it is well known and marketed as such by Rolex herself that the daytona is the star of the sports models.

it's more exclusive, more expensive, top design, name written on the movement, the only one that's more than a simple watch.... etc

and it's the only sport watch with the crown being metallic rather than print
