Better than the BLNR

Father in-law picked up the 126715CHNR this weekend from Preston’s, Leeds. Top service as always. Picture here next to my BLNR. What’s the thoughts? Personally I think it is an absolute beauty!

Top draw AD and the Leeds store is fantastic. Have they moved into the new location yet or still opposite Goldsmiths?

I traded my CHNR for the new BLNR. Beauty is in beholder. There is no “better”. Both watches are equal with the same movement. I will give a nod t the new jubilee in more comfortable and a bit more bling. It’s all what your after.

Now that I can see the pics, I am going to give the nod to the CHNR as it has the updated 3285 movement so technically it is a more advance Rolex movement. Looks are totally subjective. There is certainly no need to even rank a watch in the first place.

Don't know what "top shelf" means in the US, but in the UK it means something probably rather different to your intended meaning.

"Top drawer" is what we'd say, referring to "the highest drawer of a bedroom chest of drawers. where Victorian gentry kept their most valuable items - jewellery, best clothes etc. The phrase 'top-drawer' was initially used to denote a person's level of social standing, based on their family background" (acc to phrases.org.uk).

Interesting how language evolves, more so in other countries aside from where originated.
For us in the US, it means the best.

Top shelf or top drawer, I knew what was meant there.

In terms of social standing ands family background I am in the basement, but I keep some of watches on top of the dresser. Sometimes the dresser gets annoyed when he has to help me with my trousers, but such is life.

I wouldn't really have a preference of any Rolex based on movement, as you never see them. 40 hour or 70 hour is irrelevant to me. Is a 2019 OP a "better" watch than a 5513 Sub, 1675 GMT, 6263 Daytona as it has a newer, updated or more robust movement....? I don't think so. Preference is very subjective and I don't see an issue in ranking a watch. This is one of the reasons why I don't use TRF very often, because you're not even allowed to use a term such as "better" for risk of having someone take it so literally.

Yes, the meaning was clear, but it's nice to know enough so that one doesn't refer to adult magazines in the wrong situations!

In the UK didn’t we keep porn mags on the ‘top shelf’ at the news agents? I always use the phrase for spirits or shorts in the pub

Forgot to add, yes I think it’s a beauty

OP, I think you should enlighten some on the difference in “wrist feel” between the 2. It’s night and day, and yes, the 126715 is a special reference. Better than the BLNR? IMBO (in my biased opinion) yes.
