These prices are killing me

I have seen some great watches sell for some ridiculous prices lately and it is driving me nuts. If I only had the cash to buy now would be the time. I have thought about selling something I currently have just to buy something else but I feel like I would lose money instantly. I guess buying something else at a lower price would make up for it but the whole process is just frustrating. The prices on Daytona's is dropping like crazy and now you can get a Milgauss GV for less than MSRP everywhere. I just saw a GMT II 16710 with the 3186 sell for $4400 BNIB with stickers attached. I was thinking about buying it just because the price was so good, I was talking to the seller and it was mine if I wanted but I just could not pull the trigger. Some of these deals are getting to good to pass up, I need to stay away from sales corners for a few months or I will end up with another watch and a empty wallet. To all those thinking about buying a watch, do it, times like this don't come around all that often. Is anyone else feeling my pain???????????

Yes, agreed. Probably, prices across other items have dropped or will drop.

I hear you, but one good thing is that the economy will not get any better till next year, so you still have time to save up.. :)

Wish we was seeing these discounts in the UK as tried several Ad's in London and told no discount, apparently they are having no trouble selling Rolex.

I agree with your thoughts. Now may be the best time to buy a Rolex for the next 20-30 years. They are so low and will be until the economy picks up. If you know that you want and will but a Rolex, pre-owned is the way to go. You will not lose money on it very likely.

Wait 6 - 9 months. Then there will be great prices. They have only begun to come down.

I think it's funny how many people payed several thousand over MSRP for the Daytona and GV and now I can get them for MSRP or less.

Hey Karis, I'm not really thinking about anything particular, but I keep seeing deals that make me want to jump on them. I almost bought that M serial GMT II but I have a couple of Z's so why buy a M. I just could not justify buying another of the same watch, the only bonus I saw was that it was BNIB with stickers still attached, kinda cool for a discontinued watch. I have seen some SD'ers that I almost bought, the prices are just so good right now, it is so tempting. I am seeing LV's selling for the low $4000, it is just driving me mad. If these prices keep up, I will end up with another watch. I am going to be a little angle around the house so when a deal pops up, my lovely wife will have to give be the OK.

That not funny, LOL I'm one of them. Paid premium for SS daytona and paid below MSRP for GV. It's all good if you have the money to buy at good times and bad times.

For watches that is not that bad, people buy houses that they can't afford when the prices are high .... look at those foreclosure houses in CA, it not that funny .....the cheaper the SS daytona get the worst the economy get.

We should see the worst end of this year or how bad things going to get .... for now

How about buying it and put it as a 25 year time capsule? I'm sure the return on investment will be better than betting on Citi or GM
