Vampire Weekend - A Punk

If you're having a bad day - just flip this one on. As soon as I figure out how to embed - I will.

Great Stuff Martin

I love the medium of the music video. As a breeding ground/birthing pool of motion picture directing or cinematography talent it is second to none (well perhaps the advertising industry).

I've been fascinated with the art my whole life and nothing is as stirring and sometimes profound as stunning imagery in perfect marriage with great audio (just think of most movie montage sequences).

Now we have the Yootoob/UK rights issues I'll just tell you my faves...
(look em all up if possible)

Radiohead...Street Spirit...(Glazer induced mono dreamscape)

White Stripes...Fell In Love With a Girl (Gondry and a whole lot of lego)

Aphex Twin....Windowlicker (Chris Cunningham master of subversion and horror)

Jamiroquai...Virtual Insanity (Jonathon Glazer...simple yet brilliantly executed)

Daft Punk...Da Funk (Spike Jonze Madness)

Chemical Brothers...Let forever be (Gondry masterpiece...the logistics are mindbending)

Bjork...All is full of love (Cunningham again but the most sensual and romantic video of all time yet featuring cold, animated robots. Too beautiful for my humble words).

Chris Issak...Wicked Game (In heaven, life would be photographed by Herb Ritts)

Some other classics...though dated...
Peter Gabriel...Sledgehammer
Robert Palmer...Addicted To Love
Talking Heads...Once In a Lifetime
Aha...Take On Me

I forgot Coldplay's The Scientist.

Chris Martin learning the shape his mouth made if he had to sing the lyrics backwards so when the video is run in reverse, he lips syncs in time perfectly with the lyrics.

Genius!

I thought you would understand the underlying spirit to this thread
Chemical Bros video I had not seen before very good.
Regarding Radiohead, most of their videos could be included. I was undecided which one to go for. Went for Surprises which pipped Just, agree Street Spirit is very good

I almost picked Just but went for the almost ethereal Street Spirit.

Like Radiohead, there are a few acts that make almost consitently brilliant videos...

Bjork, Chemical Brothers (star guitar...simple yet deceptively brilliant), White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Daft Punk...

I could go on forever!!!!!!!!
