Tried on this Black Bay Blue. Thoughts and comments?
I have been thinking about a Tudor for a while.
Stopped by my AD (again) and weeded it down to a BB Blue. I was previously leaning toward a Glamour Day Date. But after trying it on with the Black Bays, the Black Bays won hands down. Narrowed it down to the Black Bay Stainless and the Black Bay Blue. But I liked the BB Blue better. Simple uncluttered dial. With white accents. Classic. Here is a pic of the BB Blue on my wrist. And a a side by side of the BB Stainless, BB Blue and my Sub no date. Thoughts?

Looks very nice, i really like the Tudor range. Certainly a classic designed watch. Blue looks nice.
Did it feel top-heavy on the strap? I tried on a Tudor GMT on a NATO and it felt a touch top heavy, although i will say i did not cinch it up. SO that might be why. |

Had the same watch and really liked it. Seems to fit you really well and that blue leather strap is really sharp looking. Great watch to wear in places where you may feel uncomfortable wearing a Rolex. The in-house movement gives you the 70 hour power reserve which once you have it you will really appreciate

I preferred the blue one. The BB Blue was my 2nd piece to add to my collection

The Black Bay in blue is my preferred choice. Red isn’t my color, I like the green but since Harrod’s doesn’t have a US branch it is tricky to get, and in black I would just get a Submariner. Not a fan of the bronze and steel models because they don’t suit my taste.
Btw OP, do take a look at the Pelagos and the North Flag as well if you get the chance. Sadly these great watches are overshadowed by the Black Bay line but are highly regarded watches as well |

I’m also considering this blue BB on steel bracelet. I like the white and silver dial - not a fan of the faux aged / gold dials of the other colours and only realized that after owning a BB58 and selling it within weeks. I would say get it on steel and you can always order the leather or fabric strap from your AD if you so choose. I personally don’t care for the fabric strap at all and the leather strap felt stiff when I tried it on but I imagine it’ll soften over time.

My ETA BB Blue came with bracelet & the NATO but I think they’ve since pulled back on offering multiple options with the current in-house reference.
Try it on the NATO if you can, its a superb product (far better than aftermarket options IMO) and really lets you nail the positioning and fit on your wrist. While the ETA version is not as top heavy as the in-house it still carries its weight higher than most watches so when I’m doing active stuff I usually swap to the NATO and it’s heft simply vanishes. FWIW I would second the recommendation above to consider the Pelagos. Its beefy statue may appear to be overwhelming but the titanium build coupled with the exceptional expanding clasp means it wears much smaller and lighter than you’d think. I love the BB blue, but sold it after 1 year of continuous wearing. I decided that 15 mm thickness is too much for me, as I kept dinging it. Also, found the 41 mm diameter to be on the high side. If I ever buy another BB, it will be the 58 (red bezel, SS bracelet). I am hoping prices will come down a bit as the element of novelty vanishes

Blue black bay is my preferred choice since there’s no overlap with any current Rolex lines.

I love the BBblue. I had the red one first which is very nice and was the first of my 3 Tudors (Ranger incl.) but ended up going for a blue eta version. Definitely a great piece. Enjoy!!...

Tried on the Pelagos in blue and black. Very nice watches. Just prefer the dial on the BB Blue. A little more understated.

Yes. I actually think I like the ETA BB Blue bracelet better. But do not believe I can get one from my AD, which is the route I want to go.

It’s nice, but I prefer the black and red versions to this blue. Just offering my opinion. I owned the black for a while and it is a great watch. If you like it, go for it. Good value.

I’ve owned Black Bays on two occasions but I can’t get over the slab side of the case. Way too much area and the thickness reminded me of a hockey puck.

I would also recommend the BB blue on a bracelet. I am tempted by that as well. Need to try it on myself. I liked the BB red when I tried it a while ago.

I have a BBB and love it. The OEM NATO is the best NATO made bar none. I put it on for the summer and haven’t changed it out yet. Having said that get it on stainless and purchase the other straps from your AD later, but definitely get the NATO at some point.

I love the blue especially on the bracelet, very comfortable to wear.
