All,

I received a Nato Bond yesterday in the mail. I was so eager to open it up and strap it on. However, I noticed that the steel (if I can call it that) fittings were very flimsy and light. It kind of felt like plastic. FYI, it was not marked stainless steel too.

I know that this Nato is not from the UK, made in HK I believe. I bought it solely because I needed it to accompany me to the beach next week, so ordering from the UK/US was not feasible.

Can my fellow TRF'ers confirm with me that Nato metalware is flimsy and light in weight? Or should I be placing an order for a better one.

Do you have any feedback on the quality and feel of the metal parts?

I bought it from the Korean version of ebay, called Auction.co.kr. The seller mentioned it was from HK, so I knew it would be a cheaper version.

There are better quality Natos with SS hardware by manufacturere like Maratec and others.

The MOD admiralty NATO straps have the metal fittings made out of plated brass. The timefactors ones are made out of steel. BUT I can pull apart the welds on a timefactors strap but not on a MOD strap. If it's tough enough for the Royal Navy I'm sure it's tough enough for general everyday wear.

I purchased both a black and a bond in 20mm from Chronoworld.com. I was extremely happy with the product. However i am switching to a leather strap and willing to sell both of these straps for $35 shipping included. Both are barely worn maybe 5-10 times each and in great condition. PM me if interested

I also ordered one off ebay and it was a piece of crap i threw it in the garbage....be careful there are lots of imitations out there...m fault for trying to save a few bucks i guess
