Got a new GMT for my birthday !

HI Guys and Gals:

Got a really nice gift for my birthday, a new Pepsi GMT.

I am a B787 Captain, and I have been wearing my 16700 and my 18238 President as my main watches when I go flying.

There are a lot of features of the new GMT that I like, including the luminosity of the dial and the hands, the click stop of the bezel, and the movement are some of my top likes.

Frankly, I do not like how big and thick the clasp is. It stands out from the wrist sufficiently to get some scratches every time I fly with it. This does not happen with the President or the GMT 16700 because the clasps are lower profile.

Additionally, I'm not sure I like the "Pepsi" colors on the bezel. The red isn't really red, and the blue isn't really blue, like it is on the 16700. Kind of a "duller" red and blue, not complaining, just commenting.

I wish that the clasp was more hidden like the President is or more simple, just a single close click, instead of the close, click, and then click the security part of the clasp down.

In the real world of airliner flying, a pilots hands are continuously in tight spaces like when you adjust your seat (hands between the seat, and the pedestal), etc., so the lower the profile of the watch, the better.

Anyway those are my initial impressions. Also saw a "Batman" GMT on a customer in first class, and the colors on the dial were not muted like they are on the Pepsi, and on initial view, seemed more appealing to me.

Ready Aim Fire !

Cheers, to all

h/

FYI I have three GMT's, photos attached

There is something about the older GMT's. They are very comfortable. Especially, with a Jubilee Bracelet.

I like my ceramic No-Date Sub. When I go to put it on, I usually defer to my GMT 1675.

I do like the "new" Pepsi.

Congrats! Did you get it grey? Seems like it’s the MKI... if you would get MKIII your colors would be darker (I’ll gladly have yours though )

A 787 captain needs the WG meteorite dial GMT. That's the one I'd own if I had to get another GMT.

Very cool gift. I just got a BLRO and also have a 5 digit Coke, I think they’re two different watches, and I appreciate them for different reasons. I think there’s plenty of room in a collection for both!
