Panerai Manual Wind Feedback?
Hi All,
I am currently researching entry level Radiomirs with manual wind P6000 movement. I've only owned 1 manual wind watch before, and that was the Omega Speedmaster Pro. With that watch, the manual wind was really easy due to the fact that I didn't even have to unscrew the crown. For folks with Panerai manual winds (doesn't have to be P6000 specifically), what's your feedback? Pros and cons? Thanks! |

No issues with a manual wind Panerai. In a lot of ways it may be better than an automatic when you have a large collection and not enough winder space.

I’m not familiar with Omega manual wind, but with Panerai, you have to unscrew the crown and then wind. I have a manual P3000 and a full wind from a dead stop is about 80 turns of the crown. It’s butter dry smooth and the winding stem is very thick and substantial feeling. FWIW, I love the manual wind experience, time to bond with your watch.

Panerai manual wind is very user friendly. I found the Speedmaster hard to wind due to the small size of the crown.

Got a 796 with the P.5001, it’s easy and smooth to wind,
the power reserve on the back says 8 days but it lasts 10 days. The movement is doing 4s/day which I think is great. So I’m winding the watch normally on weekends and ready to use it any day of the week... This is the only manual wind watch I have and I love it!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

In general pam handwound better than speedy as the crown on panerais are easier to handle than on speedy
I have 4 pams with 6497,2 with P3000,2 with P2002 and 1 with P2004 (and one speedy pro) Yes you have to unscrew the crown on radiomir but the winding feel is much positive (even on 6497) as the crown is more tactile than speedy pro |

In this digital age, it makes owning the watch even better in my opinion. With the 8 day movements, my fingers gets a bit sore by the end, other than that there’s no problems at all!

It does take several turns to wind my 233, but it will run for more than a week. During that week I usually change to a different strap each day. Then it is on to my other watches until I miss my Panerai. It is much easier to wind than my Speedy and I enjoy winding this watch.

I have Pam 112 with OP X (Eta 6497). Never had a problem with manual winding.

I've owned 2 ETA Panerai manual wind watches and both were fine. I also own the Speedmaster Moonwatch in comparison.
