To each his own...

Not meaning to offend anyone and each to his own taste but not sure if I have seen an uglier watch than the YM2

Please list what you think is the ugliest Rolex?

If you really don’t mean to offend anyone you should keep opinions like this to yourself. Yes, this is a forum to exchange opinions and ideas, but what is the point of this?

There may be models of watches (Rolex and others) that aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but its’s poor forum etiquette to disparage anyone elses choice who feel otherwise.

The Op might do to recall the old adage “if you cant say something nice, say nothing!”

I appreciated my YMII for the year that I owned it. There are many models of Rolex I wouldn’t wear because they’re not my cup of tea, but I wouldn’t go calling any model ugly.

Not sure how this is different for any other of the 100s of threads where people commenting over an incoming or another watch I am just eliciting opinions. Did not realize folks were scared of opinions and free thought.

Sorry but I am not a trophy for every player kind of person. You have winners and losers. Just want to know what other TRF members think are some the losers.

Example: the hulk...I think it is awesome...yet I have read on this forum comments describing it as a toy, plastic, ugly, etc... each of those folks whom share those opinions has that right. And I respect their opinions.

I would just like to hear what others think are ugly watches.

Sure, let’s shoehorn in the beat to death “participation trophy” schlock while we’re at it. May as well.

The forum is more for enthusiasts to gather and discuss rolexes, and most here have a positive attitude, and congratulate one another on new acquisitions, which are often very expensive ones

Coming out blazing and calling a watch that many chose to spend 16,000$ on ugly will get you the same reaction as going on your friends Facebook page and calling their baby ugly....

To each his own...

It’s better to talk about the watches you like rather than the watches you dislike.

People do openly express opinions about watches they don’t like on this forum, but usually don’t start a thread with that intent.

As I said at the start...NOT my intention to offend...just curious what others think.

For those take offense to ugly...I rephrase...
What do you think is the least attractive Rolex?
Or I could go with, which Rolex would not be on your preference list for your collection.

The request is valid as the answer to that question goes directly to used value/desirability...which seems to be a topic of any threads.

In a way I am asking which Rolex is like the Ford Edsel of the late 50s...which by the way I would not mind owning one.

Regardless of your intentions, threads like this inevitably include statements that will offend owners of the watches people call ugly or dog-watches.

New to the forum.
Agree these kind of threads don’t end well.
FWIW, the OP’s opinion is shared by quite a few but I happen to like YMII.

I actually like it. It's just a bit big. And I disagree with everyone that owners would take offense - They probably couldn't give a flying fox. Lets see your stable of beauties then OP.

Why does a person who doesn't like something, and doesn't mean to "offend" start a discussion specifically on the topic he doesn't like and will indeed offend. Ludicrous backward reverse psychology maybe, whatever the weird fix that is being sought out, this really isn't the community we are trying to foster here. I would actually welcome a thread on investing, over one titled "to each his own" that actually doesn't want to let a person be his own and in fact may discomfort a member who spent lots of money on his watch.

I don't like lots of watches, research my history here, you won't find a thread I started asking others to share in my dislike and discussing why.....that is plain weird to me. Wouldn't someone prefer to spend their time, energy and mental capacity discussing something they like. I akin this to someone speaking openly and in detail about a phobia. Imagine a person who has arachnophobia seeking to research photos, videos and discussions on spiders.
Or simply, the person is just a troll.

And to be clear, I think you're wrong, the YM2 is not one of the ugliest watches. Particularly in gold, it is spectacular.

Yes it is, however I recently saw one at the wrist of and doctor and I must say it looked pretty good. I think the horrible Yachtmaster II - text is mostly visible to the wearer and that is what disturbs me the most.

Future collectible as Tim Mosso says.
