Air-King pics - opinions?

What do you all think? I've decided I prefer the Air-King just because I don't want another black bezel right now.

I like the watch quite a bit just not sure about pulling the trigger. A forum member has offered me a new one for 25% off and no sales tax... $3150.

The one in the pic has blue markers, but I'm probably gonna go for the pink markers. I don't think you can tel from my crappy phone pic anyway

I like it a lot. Recently I have tired of the black bezel look, which is something I've always worn back to my Seiko days. I have been jonesing for an AK or DJ like this.

Why not an Oyster Date? Isn't it essentially an AK with cyclops?

The Oyster Date doesn't have the dial colors/combo that I like. I like the smooth look of the AK. I tried the oyster no-date but preferred the AK.

either way, it's a great watch - can't go wrong. i'll just throw this out there - there's a new oyster perpetual 36mm with black dial and pink indices - it looks kinda' tricked out.

That was the other one I was deciding against... just decided I don't want another black. If they had it with a white or silver dial I'd be all over it.

But it's a great look on the OP!

I think it looks much better on your wrist than the SD, but I dislike the look of BIG watches on small wrists anyway.

Pull the trigger! You'll love it, I'm betting.

Jen,

I love that watch and if it were a 40mm it would be on my short list.

The pink one is perfect for a beautiful young lady.

I looked at it, but it doesn't have the same "look" as the one on your dial, Karis.

No offense to anyone who has one, but I didn't like the way the hour markers looked on the white. They were black and they just looked like stickers.

Are you talking about the white dial AK with black romans, or the white dial AK with 3-6-9?

My DJ romans are WG and raised on the dial so it is different.

Hi Jen! Nice watch and looks great on you. I feel this could be a good choice if you wish to have something really different to your present SD (a great watch, by the way!). AK is a classic, low profile, elegant watch. An old Rolex stand by.
Now deciding about dial & index colors is another matter, as I feel this is very personal choice.

You will definitively be happier with your own choice than following the suggestion or taste of another person in this matter, I guess.

I wish you get your new Rolex, and look forward to see what you finally decide.
Enjoy this process of deciding and buying. Just be cool and think a bit about it. I understand these are hard times for your economy after your Dad´s Bluesy project, but well worth it. That´s fun also!
Kind regards, Abel

I think it's a good fit for your wrist; also, the price is attractive.

But before buying, I'd also consider the Explorer (like the AK it doesn't have a date) and - like others before me have recommended - the Milgauss (either black, white or even GV). Good luck!

I like the AK and have been looking at picking up a vintage one actually for myself. It does look good on your wrist that's for sure.

What about an Explorer II? It's got a White Face too :)

I really like the AK. It's an ole school sports watch in my opinion. I find it's history with RAF pilots to be really cool. I'd get one, but I have a SS DJ and they kind of overlap.

The Air King is actually a pretty cool watch. I hated it when I first saw it but since then it has grown on me a bit. I say if you have the coin and you like the way it looks on you

Then go big or go home

Good luck
